Frustation & Anger Overwhelm New York-Area Passengers (VIDEO)

First Posted: 12/30/10 10:23 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:20 PM ET

It's been three days since the blizzard hit New York City and, as Huffington Post Travel has reported, thousands of passengers are still delayed with an insanely long line of backlogged flights.

There have been reports of travelers waiting days for flights or sitting for hours on the tarmac and blogs by frustrated travelers who keep failing to get in touch with swamped airlines.

Below, watch the latest reports from New York-area airports to see the frustration and lack of attention the airlines are giving already-annoyed customers. At the end of this video, a woman waiting with her young child says the airline told her she would get a flight January 3rd--nine days after the blizzard.

I'm sorry, but every time I see this story's photo on the travel page, I wonder just what the heck Carrot Top is doing with that kid.

Same thing happened to me at O'hare in Chicago on Jan 29th. I missed my connection thanks to a delayed flight and incorrect information from a United employee. Needless to say they told me i had to wait 4 days to get me on another flight and would not pay a penny for the hotel.

Thanks United! I had a wonderful new years eve alone in Chicago and I wont fly with you again... :-)

It's disgusting that companies can treat people like this with so little disregard. Increasingly corporations are becoming desensitized to the suffering of others in the pursuit of profits and sadly this country is becoming more complacent in light of these corporate crimes.

I don't fly if I can avoid it. And never on holidays. If anyone wants to say "Merry Christmas" to me, they can come here or call or do it online. Just not worth it.

My daughter and grandchild wanted to visit from Germany and told me so, in the fall. I said we do it in the summer, because I remebered all the snow delays the year before. When we talked on X mas, my daughter said Mom, you were right, we would be waiting in both countries, with all that snow.

People want to fly coast-to-coast for box tops and rack up (and then use) "frequent flyer" miles for doing almost anything other than flying, this is what happens.

Looks like refugee camps, people sleeping on the floor having paid $500 or more for round trip tickets only to be treated like cattle...

No more flying for me, AMTRAK or the open road from now on...

This story reads like a J.G. Ballard novel...pretty soon the airport inhabitants won't want to leave and will form little distinct tribes, taking over various food courts and bathrooms as territories...
