Cabbie Plays Hero To Stranded Mother With 5 Kids

A cab driver saw an opportunity to pay it forward earlier this week when a mother and her five children, stranded at the Buffalo Airport, got into his cab.

According to CNN, Eddy Emran spent his Sunday taxiing travelers who couldn't get a flight out around Buffalo. When a Nigerian woman, with kids in tow, said through tears that she needed to get to New York City, Emran offered her a break.

WIVB reports:

Emran took several hundred dollars off the [flat rate]. The normal seven-hour drive took Emran 14 hours under horrible conditions, including three hours bumper-to-bumper in Brooklyn.

Emran told WIVB that when he first moved to the States from Jordan, an elderly woman drove 14 miles out of her way to help him and his four kids find their way back home after being lost. Emran recalled:

"She said, 'Follow me.' I follow her at this time and she take me safe to my house and I appreciate her. I don't know her name. I remember this situation, her driving with me. I don't forget. I try and help the people how much I can."
