Sandra Lee Opens Up About Being First Girlfriend Of New York

Sandra Lee spoke about life as Governor Andrew Cuomo's girlfriend in a wide-ranging interview with the New York Post.

The celebrity chef says she hopes to use her connections in the food world to help make food more affordable for New Yorkers.

"It's not just the poor and the homeless that are suffering. It is the middle class, too," Lee says, while also noting that, while growing up, her mother relied on food stamps to feed the family.

Because she and Cuomo are not married, Lee is not entitled to taxpayer funded security or transportation, so she'll pay for both herself.

Lee says she and Cuomo could get married some day, but it won't happen anytime soon.

"I think when it's important to the kids, we'll do it," Lee says. "Right now, we have much more important things to do."
