Art Institute Free Admission Every Weekday In January, Shuffles Summer Schedule

Art Institute Is Free Every Weekday In January

The Art Institute of Chicago is kicking off the New Year in a generous mode. For the next month, admission at the museum will be free every weekday.

The Free Winter Weekdays program is running from January 3 to Feburary 4, and admission is free for all guests, all day, including on Thursday and Friday when it's open until 8 p.m.

After that time, the museum will return to its usual schedule of free Thursday evenings through the summer, but things will be shuffled around again come June.

Instead of the Thursday deal, the museum will be free all day on the first and second Wednesdays of every month, starting on June 1.

Given that the regular admission price is a relatively steep $18 (well, $16 for Chicago residents, but still...), and given the pretty sweet exhibitions in the museum right now (Chicago Cabinet, anyone?), the winter weekdays deal is one worth getting on. And with free evenings too, it's even nine-to-fiver-friendly.
