David Tennant

A time traveling story worth of 'Dr. Who' is happening in real life.

The Daily Mail is reporting that David Tennant, the 10th Doctor in the long-running British sci-fi series, is marrying Georgia Moffett, who is the daughter of Peter Davison, the 5th incarnation of the Doctor. Not only that, she played Tennant's daughter in a 2008 episode of the show.

Tennant began playing the doctor in 2005 and stepped down from the role in 2010, to be replaced by Matt Smith.

An actor of giant repute in the UK, Tennant also played Barty Crouch, Jr. in 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.'

Davison, another acting giant in the UK, played the Doctor from 1981-1984. Moffett appeared in the BBC Three show 'Spooks: Code 9' in 2008.

Doctor Who has a daughter? I really have to get caught up on watching the show.

@sigh-ence While they called her his daughter in the story, she was more of a gender swapped clone, being produced as an adult via a piece of technology.

Guess I should have read the other posts BEFORE posting. Thanks for the info.

See, that right there is why we should never clone humans--because too many people believe ridiculous things about them. Technically, if something like this were to occur, the resulting offspring WOULD be the original person's child. Only difference is the reproduction occurred asexually rather than sexually.

If you want to get technical, truth be told, when you've got a pair of identical twins, one is the offspring of the other. But because of the way they come into the world, culturally we do not see them like that.

"Gender swapped" isn't the right word anyway. They took some cells from the Doctor, split them down the middle including divvying up the chromosomes, then put two halves together that had X chromosomes in them. Presto, it's a girl.

Now, for all you Doctor Who fans, you may get a kick out of this clip.....England does an annual special calle "Children in Need"..A way to help out disadvantaged kids...Anyway, a few years ago, the special filmed a "mini" Doctor Who Episode in which the "Doctor" played by David Tennant meets "Himself" A.K.A The Doctor played by Peter Davidson.......Which will also now be his Father-in-Law in real life.

This was a Cute little video and I hope you enjoy it:

Very happy for him and Ms. Moffet. I grew up watching Dr. Who on PBS and have not gotten to keep up with Tennant's Doctor as much as I would like. Looking at these comments I think I will have to rent and maybe buy the boxed set when it's available!

its available, even on netflix. David Tennant is by FAR the best Doctor ever. Yes Tom Baker fans, he's better than Tom Baker.

Totally agree with you. I can't make myself watch the David Tennant's last Dr Who episode. I'm still hoping David will be back.

Tact is just not saying true stuff. I’ll pass.

Not better, just different. Baker's tour of duty was at a completely different time, with different sensibilities and endearingly tacky sets and effects. Actually, I preferred Christopher Eccleston to Tennant, although I know I'm in the minority here.

So happy for them! David is awesome in everything I've seen him in, especially Doctor Who.

Congrats to them both.

Moffet was terrific in that one episode. I remember it very well. And I still haven't seen season 5 of DW because I've been putting off watching Tennant's final episode. I don't want his reign to end. :(

Also, any new information on whether or not he will be in The Hobbit?
11:06 AM on 01/05/2011
He might be in The Hobbit?! I haven't heard this rumor! Tell Tell!!

Well, there was a rumor long ago that he was in the running to play Bilbo, but that turned out to be completely untrue. He hadn't been asked about it or anything.

Now Martin Freeman is locked in to play Bilbo, but back in October there were reports that Tennant was in talks for another unnamed role in the movie.

David Tennant is one of the great actior's of our time; his portrayal of Hamlet available on PBS site is awesome. He is also hands down the best incarnation of the Time Lord.
I wish him and Ms. Moffett much love and happiness,

Wait... so he's marrying the daughter of a former doctor who also happened to play his clone in one episode. That's kinda weird.

She's cute but she's no Rose Tyler....

Rose was good, so was Feema, but Amy Pond is shockingly awesome.

I never understood the fuss over Rose, but Amy is wonderful. My all-time fave was Leela (and K9). And yes, I think David was every bit as good as Tom, and I LOVED Tom.
