Jenni "JWoww" Farley of "Jersey Shore" hasn't hesitated to wear revealing outfits on her television series -- in fact, she once aspired to bring her strategically-draped party tops to the masses. So we're not sure why MTV was reportedly so shocked when she showed up in pasties and a chain top to the channel's New Year's Bash on Friday.

A source told UsMagazine.com, "JWoww wanted to wear just her chains and pasties without her blazer for the MTV New Year's Eve special," but, "her management made her wear the blazer as well to abide by MTV's Standards & Practices."

However, the dressy-casual look wasn't good enough for some folks. Our friends at StyleList -- who also have a better pic of JWoww's ensemble -- called the look "a cringe-worthy showgirl-meets-hooker outfit":

Aside from flaunting your new abs (we get it, it's working!), we're unsure what you were trying to accomplish with your see-through beaded chandelier top, under which you stuck on a pair of reflective flower pasties. Sure, the mindset of New Year's Eve is to party-hearty, but girl, that look is more tragique than très chic.

Though there may be one person who might be in your sartorial corner. Perhaps you should connect with newly sober Lindsay Lohan, Ungaro's former "artistic advisor," who oversaw those strategically placed neon heart coverups.

Truth be told, we're not too surprised. Didn't anyone else catch the season 2 episode when JWoww wears basically the same thing to the club in Miami? (Except that time, it was shorts.) (Not that we're regular viewers.)

Take a look and tell us what you think.
