Hundreds More Dead Birds Fall From Sky In Kentucky

Dead Birds

MURRAY, Ky. — Kentucky wildlife officials say several hundred dead birds were found dead in the western part of the state.

The grackles, red wing blackbirds, robins and starlings were found last week.

New Year's Eve fireworks have been blamed for the deaths of thousands of blackbirds in central Arkansas. Another 450 birds died this week in Louisiana, likely after hitting power lines or cars.

Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources spokesman Mark Marraccini says someone called police about the discovery in Kentucky, and they alerted state officials.

Marraccini says tests performed on the birds ruled out diseases or poisons. He said the deaths could have been caused by weather or another natural event.

Mass bird deaths are not uncommon.

ha ha! I said this somewhere on here too... I figured since Arkansas is the Razorback state, that God was playing his own version of Angry Birds....

More and more. Explanation is the weather?? Does not make sense. Bruising can "appear" to be caused by blunt trauma but bruising is broken blood vessels and blood clots which can also be cause by many different things, toxins? They say they tested for toxins. Well what ones did they test for?? You don't just do a test for generic toxins.
So if it is unexplained bruising and clotting does not necessarily mean blunt trauma. Could be ingestion of an anti coagulant the same way that Rat Poison works. Did they test the level of vitamin K? Vitamin K is required for blood to coagulate.

Ok....again with the fireworks. Seriously! Why don't tons of birds drop from the sky every July 4th?
08:26 PM on 01/10/2011
They probally do and no one never notices it cause they are either to hungover from the 4th of July or to stoned and think it's really cool...

Thousands of fish were found dead in lake Azuei, Haiti on December 24th 2010. In USA thousands of dead fish were found in the states of Arkansas, Louisiana; millions of dead fish were found dead in in the state of Maryland. Similar incidents happened in Brazil, New Zealand and elsewhere.
Thousands of dead birds are falling from the sky of Arizona, Louisianan, and Sweden.
Speculations abound about the causes. Specialists in biology and environmental disaster so far are unable to tell what cause this global sudden death of so many fish and birds within the last 2weeks.
Speculations abound about the probable causes of this ecological disaster include but not limiting to the followings:
1-Chemical release from undersea volcanoes
2-Testing or releasing of some unknown chemical in the environment including British Petroleum
3-Birds are sensitive to electrostatic charges. Noise and thunder could irritate them that are why they fly low before a storm. Piezoelectric activity resulting from aftershock earthquake
4-Testing of some secret military weapons by one of the big powers
5-Fireworks celebration for the New Year

OK, first of all, the article says 'mass bird deaths are common.' Problem is, I've never heard of any mass bird deaths. Second thing - there was a bald raccoon found in the same state, with a bunch of other bald animals suspected on the eastern seaboard, and now we have grackles dying in Arkansas and a bunch of starlings and bluebirds dying in Louisiana. The 'party line?' Fireworks and power lines...I don't think so, Tim...I don't know what it actually is, but if mass bird deaths are common, how come these are receiving national attention? Oh, maybe it was a weather balloon...oh, sorry, that's UFO's. Seriously, though, this is kind of scary.

I was reading this thinking about this statement too "Mass bird deaths are not uncommon." Um...when and where? Am I missing something because I don't see anything on the internet about it happening within the past few years. Again...am I missing something?

Yeah, I think that is odd that if these are so common, why are we only hearing about this now?
06:57 PM on 01/09/2011
Maybe the same reason why 2012 is gaining so much ground..we have a HUGE media outlet to all communicate with another, so more people are conscious to things happening due to social networking sites and local/ national news. We are better able to read the news and find out about these events because of the internet... our scope of knowledge has greatly expanded in the past 20 years

I posted a comment the other day about the expullsion of H2S by earthquake . The local oil companies are using a pressure infusion system to pump saltwater under the oil bearing formation since the saltwater takes the place of the oil in the pressurized dom the cap gas over the dome has to escape. As you might expect it's relief valve is in a rift that creates the least restriction. Any fault line which is natural is affected. The gas under pressure holds tight until an escape is found, which may come in large enogh volumes to engulf great areas at concentratin levels high enough to kill birds , fish and any oxygen breathing animal.I have expressed the likely hood of the pressure gradient relief in the past and I am expressing itagain. The Oklahoma area is the area where there are huge formations with billions of cubic feet of gas ,some sour ,some sweet. both in concentration are deadly but H2S is extremly so. Someone need to get the fireworks idea off the table and look at the facts and the probability of thousand of birds dying from fireworks shock ,this is ridiculous. They were affected by an inhaled agent of some source and died in midflight. Gas is the only substance that has that power. Whether it was natural after shock or primary quake the increased pressure to back the Oil out of the ground at ever increasing pressure need s to be at least looked into

OK, this doesn't surprise me and makes a heck of a lot more sense than fireworks shock.

I said something to my husband the other day about earthquakes or fissures releasing toxic gases because there were both bird deaths and fish deaths...

Not unusual, its just that the media is not on to something that they see as worthy of their time. If you have eyes all over the world you will find these kind of things happen quite often
06:40 PM on 01/05/2011
Um, why is it that they still believe that it was "fireworks" or "lightning" and reporting that? Also they keep saying they are ALL unrelated. This is absolute BS!! I Guess the fireworks in Arkansas are responsible for the birds in Sweden, the 2 million fish in MD, the 2 tons of fish in Brazil, the fish in New Zealand, etc etc etc. ALL WITHIN THE SAME 2 WEEK SPAN!!!!!!

Exactly pretty soon they will say a weather balloon is causing it - This is much to ironic to give a lame answer.
