The Queens Gazette reported that on Monday, December 27th, the owner of the Steinway Mansion in Astoria, Michael Halberian, died in his home.

The 82-year-old had lived in the mansion once owned by famous piano manufacturer, William Steinway, his whole life. Though he had tried to sell once before, this summer he listed the property with Carolyn and Paul Zweben of Prudential Douglas Elliman and Kim Parshley of Halvatzis Realty.

The extraordinary home was built in 1858 and it has 25 rooms with original details like coffered ceilings, elaborate fireplaces and spiral staircases. The $4.5 million house has double parlors, a library, sauna, jacuzzi, billiard room and an entire English bar and pub in the basement. Learn more about the home here.
