Something about the ego-centric twittersphere and Buddhism just doesn't make sense.

Rania is not a religious leader. She is for awareness of anti-Arab and Muslim hate

Since arguments are running low, this fact should be used by a theist in the next debate against Dawkins or Hitchens. Give it a try, by all means.

Oh come now ! Most of these guys ( there's only one woman that I can see!) have assistants etc. who do this mundane, trendy, tweeting stuff. I would hope they have much better things to do than assume their every little thought is of any interest to the rest of us. And I also hope that people aren't getting their spiritual guidance from a tweet (I truly hate that word!).

Wonder how many of these folks actually do the tweeting and how many have some assistant to do it for 'em.

Uh... since when is Queen Rania ( no disrespect to her but...) a religious leader?
I thought Muslim heads would pop over the idea of a female in ANY religious hierarchy??
She seems to be a good woman and is trying to be a force for good, but a religious leader??

Not a religious leader but no, Muslim heads would not pop over the idea of a female religious leader. Ever read Islamic history?

Hmmm, know how to tweet. That means they have to know how to type (hunt and peck is ok), know how to navigate the Internet and have a valid email address. What an accomplishment! Well worth a news story.

Speaking via Twitter, Facebook, etc, means never having to be challenged for truth or clarification, be it a religious 'leader' or politician from Alaska. I am hardly impressed that this phenomenon warrants an article here and certainly not impressed by those mentioned.

Most religious leaders are narcissist, preying on the weak and vulnerable. Tell me this is healthy?!

"Most" by what evidence? That's a pretty sweeping stereotype.

Jesse Jackson, a religious leader – if you say so. Deepak Chopra, not so much religious as a moneymaker. Unfortunately, I since a bit of phoniness from him. He creeped me out even more after the, Michael Jackson, drama. Religious leaders are always there at the right time absorbing the spotlight. Look at me! Look at me! They collect our dollars, and are partially to blame for the poor getting poorer. Tell me there’s not some form of manipulation going on here? Keep your money, people, and begin to believe in yourself.

Believe that good people can also be religious leaders, and vice versa. Rather than stereotype all because of the actions of a few.

Point being -- you can believe a religious leader by their actions, not just their talk. Many are worth being "leaders," but it doesn't require money to respect them.

Thich Nhat Hanh is awesome - one of the best buddhist teachers/leaders out there. Kinda cool he tweets.
