Charles Barkley On Tucker Carlson: He's A 'Nobody,' 'Fired Because He Sucked' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 01/09/11 09:42 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:25 PM ET

On Thursday's edition of "Inside The NBA" on TNT, NBA analyst Charles Barkley ripped Tucker Carlson for saying Michael Vick should have been executed. Carlson made the statement while filling in for Sean Hannity on Fox News on Dec. 28.

"There's some idiot on another station named Tucker Carlson, who called out Michael Vick," Barkley said at the beginning of his rant. He started to praise Vick and wished him luck in the playoffs, then continued to fire at Carlson.

"Tucker Carlson, who's a nobody. He used to work for us over here. We fired him because he sucked," the NBA Hall of Famer said. "He said Michael Vick should be executed, which is total BS."

After the host added that Carlson backtracked his statement the following week, Barkley responded and said, "Well he should never have said that."

Sir Charles speaks some truth. I can think of few people who have sunk as low as Tucker Carlson.

Who cares what Barkley says? He's a nasty piece of work as well.

Vic has a lowlife-type animal abuse, torture, murder type criminal record,

Barkley is of low character to mention Carlsons over the top but still valid comment about Vic's; uncivilized, cruel, barbaric, sadistic, horrendous, lowlife, heinous crimes !!!

Vick has not harmed one human being. If you so called Christians believe the Bible you constantly beat, it says, and I am paraphrasing, ".. that humans have dominion over the beast of the earth..."

Or at least for governor of Alabama. Love the Chuckster. War EAGLE!!!!!

as much as he gets a chance too, to stop others from doing what he did !!!

Or to drop out of his carreer and get another job and donate most of his earnings to charities there too !!!

He shouldn't be getting any kind of praise for the job he does so he should not have been allowed back into the NFL !!!

The league officials, team owners, and coaches that let him back into the NFL and onto the team are all filthy criminal lowlives !!!

I'm entitled to my opinion on this moral-ethics, multi-animal; abuse, terror, torture, murder, convicted-criminal issue, which in this case happens to be a very valid one !!!

He paid his debt to society. He has a right to engage in the profession of his choice. So yo believe you have the right to decide what someone does for a living? What you have a problem with is a black man earning more money than you.
10:08 PM on 01/12/2011
Why was he such a lowlife and he should have gotten 10 years, millions in fines and kicked out of the NFL !!!

I think that the comment Tucker made was just turrrrrible - you'd think that someone who takes himself as serious as deciding to wear a bowtie everyday would perhaps think twice about saying such idiotic things. Although Barkley is no genius himself, I must admire his pointing out this moronic comment +1 for Barkley. Vick is a tremendous athlete and if it wasn't for him being famous we would care at all about the mistakes he has made.

I AGREE TUCKER CARLSON IS A LOSER NOBODY, TRYING TO GET HIS NAME MENTIONED ANY WAY HE CAN, BECAUSE OTHER WISE NO WOULD EVEN KNOW THIS LOSER IS ALIVE! TUCKER CRAWL BACK INTO THE SLIMMY HOLE YOU CAME OUT OF,YOU WORM!

He's less than a nobody. The only reason we know him at all is because of his family's money that allowed him to pay his way onto the air.
04:00 AM on 01/12/2011
He's not a nobody, and I find it funny how all these retarded black athletes are insulted by Tucker's comments, as if race had anything to do with it.
BTW, blukazoo, Tucker's comments were LIBERAL. The belief that the torture and killing of animals deserve the same kind of punishment as the killing of a human being is a LIBERAL belief that many who work for PETA have. I find it absolutely ridiculous that people are trying to paint Tucker's comments as far right wing. Anyway, Tucker apologized, so get over it.

I have not been back here in a while to the "Huffington Post Social News" site, hahahaha, doing everything they can to move away from the far left paradigm that they represent, like FireDogLake....

What is funny is HuffPoo runs the story about Vick which is a story with far left leanings too. I mean fighting dogs and beating pup seals, i.e. the story should run on HuffPoo's top column. But no, HuffPoo runs the story neutrally which means that any angle can be argued in the peanut gallery. Hahahahaha...the march toward the center by HuffPoo.

== "Tucker Carlson, who's a nobody...." ==

I must strongly disagree Mr. Barkley,. He's a doofus.
10:13 PM on 01/12/2011
I agree Carlson is a decent person,

Vic has a lowlife-type animal abuse, torture, murder type criminal record,

and Barkley if low character to try to defend what Vic did in any way !!!

Just to clarify (sorry for the poor punctuation), I was not calling Mr. Barkley a doofus.

I don't think there's any such thing as "paying your debt to society," when you're cruel to animals. Where's the justice for the dogs? Is Vick suddenly a good person again because he sat in a cell for a bit? Give me a break. He's like any other criminal who does something reprehensible like dog fighting - not sorry, just sorry he got caught.

This celebrity culture is repulsive. Do you really think everyone would be this supportive of a no-name dog fighter without an NFL contract? Please.

my god you are rigid, people can change, lets just banish them so they can commit more crimes
12:24 PM on 01/12/2011
I agree with PatrickNM on this. We have to give people a chance to evolve. How did you get into Vick's head anyway, greenpatches? How do you know where his heart is?

Tucker "The Round Mound of Sound" Carlson seems to have lost his mojo after ditching the bowtie.
