Diana Taylor Addresses Her And Bloomberg's Height Difference (PHOTOS)

Harper's Bazaar caught up with Mayor Michael Bloomberg's girlfriend Diana Taylor a.k.a. the de facto First Lady of New York. She and Bloomberg met at a luncheon in 2000: "We were seated next to each other because I was the only Republican in the room," Taylor told the glossy, adding, "Of course this relationship has changed my life. I had never played golf before I met him."

But one thing that hasn't changed is her sense of style. Eliza Lipsky-Karasz writes:

Taylor gravitates toward classics from Rucci, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, and Ralph Lauren that will last forever. (As she points out, the New York Post called her out for wearing the same dress to the Hampton Classic two years in a row. "If I have something I like, I wear it," she says.)

She doesn't forgo the occasional showstopping heel, however. Bloomberg, she says, "doesn't care" what height she wears. "If you look at every picture of us together, and there are a lot, he comes up to about here," she says, smiling and gesturing at her shoulder.

Taylor also touched on what her duties as Bloomberg's girlfriend entail, mainly "follow[ing] the mayor around at night," which can involve three or more events -- everything from Knicks Games to Broadway shows to parties at their own home...which Taylor said, "I have nothing to do with it. I find out who's coming basically that day. It's great. As long as there's a menu and there's flowers, it's fine."
