Georgetown Student Talked To Arizona Gunman Moments Before Shooting

In an emotional video, Georgetown student Alex Villec recalls the short conversation he had with Arizona gunman Jared Lee Laughner minutes before he opened fire.

Villec, who was home in Tuscon for winter break, was checking in guests at the "Congress on Your Corner" hosted by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords when Loughner approached him and requested to speak with Giffords.

"A kind of shady looking gentlemen came up, asked me if he could talk to the congresswoman," Villec told CBS 5. "So just like anybody else, I redirected him to the back of the line, [he] came back about 30 seconds later and before I knew, he was barging through the tables toward the congresswoman."

Villec said he was standing three feet away from Giffords when the shooting occurred. According to the Georgetown Voice, Villec took shelter behind a pillar and fled the scene.
