Contrary to popular opinion, people who say they are still madly in love with their spouses after more than two decades are not crazy. At least, some of them aren't. And in answer to your next question, apparently they're not lying either. This is the proposition of a new study  published in the December issue of Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience that took brain scans of long-married people who claimed to still be besotted with their marital partner.

I admit I didn't read the article, because I think I know the answer. It would be like that old drug awareness commercial where theres an egg burning in a pan, only they say: "This is your brain on marriage" :D

What your brain looks like after 20 years of marriage? I was expecting something along the lines of the blackened smokers lung, after 20 years of 2 packs a day.

Probably ministrone soup....I just read the term companionate love....That sounds more like "oh well"....I prerer to think that its more the fading of the "tingly" attachment...The love stays the same.
