Over 100 Dead Birds Found Near California Highway

Dead Birds

GEYSERVILLE, Calif. — California wildlife officials are trying to figure out what caused the death of more than 100 birds found clustered together just off Highway 101.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that California Highway Patrol officers found the dead birds near the roadway on Saturday and called in the state Department of Fish and Game to investigate.

The officers who found the birds described them as small with brown and black feathers. They were intact and had not been shot.

The reports come as other, larger bird deaths have been reported in Arkansas, Louisiana and other states.

Scientists say mass die-offs of wildlife happen regularly, and are usually unrelated and unreported.

Something weird is going on in our environment right now. Crickets dying by the thousands of a virus, birds falling from the sky, and no reason being given other than the birds suffered mass internal trauma (no doubt from hitting the ground). Maybe some gas in the atmosphere somewhere? The recent volcanic eruptions? Methane? Food chain? End of Days? What?

People get ready, there's a train a comin' . . . Joking, but maybe not...

Why is this not making headline news, daily? Forget about the few people that died, heck, people die in this country everyday, and no one makes a big deal out of it. Sorry, but it's the truth. So what if it happened at some political thing? I really don't care, all politicians are a bunch of greedy liars anyway. I am more concerned with the fact that this is being covered up more or less. No scientific explanation, no nothing. ya ya, sure the birds overate, and ya ya sure, fireworks scared them. Ya ya sure, this happens all the time. Well guess what? If you go the the USGS site, you can see the mortality rates of the animals, Most of them are in numbers of less than 50. Like, 10 or 20. Check the site for yourself, you will see. Mass die offs are not common, and not all at once, like they are now. What is the government covering up? We need to start DEMANDING answers from our government.

This just in... Biologists have discovered high levels of Vitriol in the birds' blood.

Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring" started a movement to ban DDT, at least in this country. Perhaps someone(s) will produce an expose that will have equal effect despite the undermining from the pro-industry folks.

I read where the very same thing occurred in South America not long before they were hit with a really bad earthquake that measured 7.5 on the rector scale. These events are not normal and they appear to be reoccurring.Hey, Someone was telling me a story today. They were saying that 58% of the wheat crop had been destroyed by something called rust rot.Did anyone here hear anything about this.I intend to research it just to see what it says.Because if this is true well...........

Then the whole U.S. is going to have an earthquake, since these things are happening all across the country?

As previously suggested in the comments below by another reader --dispersants in the food chain...? as in from the oil spill. Are the "scientists" looking at THAT possibility? If this is the cause, we are in serious trouble.

I thought the same thing weeks ago when this started but HAAARP seems more plausible since it fits in with the aura of conspiracy. (that was pure sarcasm)

And I always though the birds migrated to another location. Who new they just flew away and died.

This is getting downright creepy now. Mass flocks of birds dropping out of the sky around the country in the span of a month? Mass fish deaths too?

And the Federal government is saying, no connection, not related, fireworks, hail storms, etc. etc. etc. I think the Federal scientists don't know what it is, so they say "don't worry. nothing here. no problem." Well, guess they don't want to scare us. However, the bottom line, the common denominator, is the impact human beings are having on our planet. It is significant and it is growing exponentially.

We should not try to find a cause, but rather look at the combined effects of them all. Wildlife is already in retreat as habitat is turned to over to human endeavers and climate changes; weakened by unreliable food supplies, diseases; reduced population growth; and eventually extinction. And those animals that rely on that food source? Well, they are next in line. Eventually the combined effects will reach us also. Can it be otherwise?

Many in the US of A are trying to move forward in eliminating sources of pollution, but the "industry" and their paid political shills make sure they can continue to reap a profit at the expense of our environment. Republican stalwarts continue to block any movement forward, even symbolic ones. They will continue to divide and conquor legislation that would effectively deal with problems in a comprehensive way.

I am sure many researchers are looking into what's happening and we will know more in the coming months. In the meantime, the Feds will not be coming forth with any meaningful comments.

I was hoping we had seen the last reports of these mass animal deaths- sad to see another!
Please read this fact based theory with one sensible explanation on the mass animal deaths.

Although the first reports were from Arkansas, the first dead birds were in Kentucky; not as many birds in KY, they were found around Christmas, the timing is important (they were not reported until after Arkansas made the news). The scientists in Italy said the blue tinged beaks indicate poison or hypoxia; I theorize poison. Arkansas witnesses said surviving birds look like “drunken partiers”.

There are many species included in these mass kill and about 30 mass kills as of my last count. Mass animal deaths do occur but not at this frequency (land and air simultaneously). It is too long for this message but only takes a few minutes. It is fact based and sensible; more so, it gives one explanation for all of these events. Occam's razor! 5000 birds do not fall from the sky because of fireworks! 1000 birds to not overeat!

This is serious and can not be ignored because it affects all of us. People's awareness is important! details here; "Say No to Corporate America"

Let us hope the birds and fish deaths are over! Thank you for posting this comment!
