The Pro Wal-Mart, Anti-Mosque Crowd

If You Are Pro Wal-Mart, Are You Anti-Mosque?

This flier was posted last week on the conservative blog Atlas Shrugs as a call for activists to protest Wednesday's City Council hearings about Wal-Mart (which Wal-Mart executives have decided not to go to) by instead opposing Park51, the proposed Islamic center near ground zero. Ok.

The author, Pamela Geller, draws some sort of comparison between these two divisive development debates -- Wal-Mart and Park51 -- and comes out, with slightly disturbing graphics, on Wal-Mart's side. Salon described the flier below well: "The beautiful thing about her little flier is how confusing and incoherent it is. It is anti-mosque, and pro-Wal-Mart, but the Wal-Mart happy face is wearing a veil, and there is an Islamic crescent in place of the style guide-confounding hyphen?"

Here's Geller's plea: "Please protest the Ground Zero Mosque at these ridiculous hearings. Expose the hyprocrisy of the NYC Council and Bloomberg's toolbox. No Wal-Mart, but taxpayer funds for a 15-story victory mosque in a building destroyed in the 911 attacks."
