Lesbian Trainers File Discrimination Suit Against David Barton Gym

Two lesbian trainers have filed a lawsuit against the David Barton gym chain, claiming they were subject to homophobic harassment.

Deborah Cooke and Christina Rodino charge in a Manhattan federal suit that their beefcake bosses at David Barton Gyms made them the butt of gay jokes and called each of them a "f---ing dyke."

The suit alleges that one fellow trainer asked Cooke if she "was going to strap on a penis tonight."

Cooke also says in the lawsuit that one of her supervisors saved her number under "Dyke Cooke."

The lawsuit claims Cook and Rodino were fired on Dec. 2 after they complained about the harassment.

The gym says the women were terminated for working with outside clients, though the lawsuit alleges that other employees who trained non-members weren't punished.

The David Barton Gym first opened in Chelsea and is well known in the neighborhood as a posh, gay-friendly establishment.
