Jimmer Fredette Buzzer Beater: BYU Star Hits 40-Footer As Time Expires, Misses Dunk (VIDEO)

BYU Star Hits 40-Foot Buzzer-Beater, Misses Dunk

Jimmer Fredette might be lauded as one of the best players in college basketball right now, but even the greats occasionally make mistakes.

The missed dunk came amidst an absolutely stellar performance; the star had 47 points including 6 three-pointers. Perhaps his best shot came right before the half, as Fredette sank a 40-foot buzzer-beater.

His 29 point performance in the first half (already topping his average of 25) was concluded by this shot. BYU went on to win impressively, 104-79 over rival Utah.

However, Tuesday's performance did have at least one flaw, as Fredette missed a wide-open dunk in the second half. It didn't have an impact (aside from keeping Fredette from 49 points), but it was a bit embarrassing for the star.

Fredette also became the NCAA's leading scorer after the win, passing UConn sensation Kemba Walker, according to SB Nation.
