Paul LePage: NAACP Can 'Kiss My Butt' (VIDEO)

Paul Lepage Naacp Hell

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 01/14/11 02:21 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:25 PM ET

Paul LePage, Maine's new Tea Party-backed governor, will reportedly not attend an NAACP event to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and if the NAACP doesn't like it, LePage said, they can "kiss my butt."

"They are a special interest. End of story ... and I'm not going to be held hostage by special interests," LePage said, according to local station WCSH. "And if they want, they can look at my family picture. My son happens to be black, so they can do whatever they'd like about it."

LePage has an adopted son from Jamaica, WCSH reports.

The NAACP had invited the governor to visit black inmates at a Maine prison, according to CNN. LePage reportedly contends that the organization was upset he insisted on meeting with white prisoners as well.

However, WCSH reports:

Denise Lord, associate commissioner in the Department of Corrections, tells NEWS CENTER that she is not familiar with this specific invitation, but that she would be surprised if the prison had allowed an event that was only for black inmates.

LePage Spokesman Dan Demeritt told the local outlet that the governor had prior commitments during the proposed time slots.

LePage's gruff rhetoric also raised eyebrows during the 2010 campaign season when he told a group of fishermen at a Republican forum that they could expect to see him tell President Barack Obama to "go to hell."

GOOD for you Gov LePage. the NAACP is now controlled by far left socialists! the whole meet with black only prisoners was a set up. The Martin Luther King incident was a political sandbag which got national exposure. Media crucified him but word on the street is very positive.
They then put out a news release claiming falsely that he refused to participate in any MLK events. He read it in the paper for the first time next morning while be driven to an event and went ballistic (none of the reporters called him for comment before running the NAACP release).

So he arrived at an event and said on TV camera that "...if they want to play the race card on me they can kiss my butt..." and reminded them that he has an adopted black son from Jamiaca and that he attended the local MLK Breakfast every year he was mayor of Waterville (he started his morning there on MLK Day yesterday.)

Of course these are FACTS which will only serve to confuse the crap out of 99%+ of the gluehuffer post readers.

BTW the tide has turned the American people have woken up to the fact that the last 40+ yrs of leftist control is One Big A$$ Mistake America

Isn't this the same stylish gentleman who said he would tell the President to go to Hell? And now we are treared to another gem from this bozo. How should a teacher in one of Maine's elementary schools react to a student who decides to express his or herself in the same manner as the Governor? When did we do away with the bar so many of us were urged to crest because that was the standard our leaders and our finest citizens surmounted to attain their positions in life. JOYZ36

How did this despicable insect steal his election? This man is utterly reprehensible. Any American leader who speaks so disrespectfully of Dr. King is not fit for public office.

What the hell has happened to Maine? When I went to college there, it had one of the country's two Independent governors and a strong Green Party. Now the Tea Party rules it?

Congratulations Mainiacs. This is the face the voters chose to put forward to the world. You must be so proud.

Now you get to live with it. Over. And. Over. And. Over. Again.

Carry on.

Is the NAACP sacrosanct?

Can it be possible to level any criticism against an organization which promotes advancement based on race?

It is an all (insert race) club. Other like-minded organizations are considered r@c!st.

I and another Mainer posted the following several times to make clear just how LePage was elected:

Over 62% of us DIDN'T vote for him. He won in a 3 way and in Maine there is NO runoff. BELIEVE me.... many of the Dems who did EARLY voting for Libby Mitchell (D), bec they didn't think Eliot Cutler (Indep, but really a Dem, former Muskie aide) could win as he was polling in low teens, UNTIL about 2 wks before election. Cutler worked with Ed Muskie on first air and water pollution legislation.

By election day Cutler was within 1 or 2 points of LePage, 38% to 37%, but alas, when the outlying areas' votes came in late reflecting French Canadian vote, alas, the predicted victory went to this knucklewalker. (end of post)

Then a blogger posted this response:

Wow, you're complaining about what looks like a completely fair democratic election? Unbelievable! Just because it was under 50%, like pres election has been for quite a while now, doesn't in ANY WAY discredit election.

NOONE is discrediting the election. Amazing how your POV skewers intention. I made CLEAR many dems voted for Libby Mitchell bec they didn't think Cutler cld win. The result was the election of LePage bec of EARLY voting and NO runoff. LePage was legitimately elected. POINT was those dems who early voted wished they hadn't. Had they waited, they wld have caught the WAVE that surged Cutler to 37%. Plain and simple.

the NAACP is a special interest group, they are just a partisan arm of the Democratic party, anybody who thinks otherwise is fooling himself or herself .
They are supposed to be non-partisan but they are always against Black conservatives and always support the Democrats 100%, never supported any Republican position or candidate, correct me if I am wrong, WTG Governor, truth needs to be told and please stop pretending.
