Death Valley in Winter

The sky is blue, the sunsets in technicolor, and the temperature well below broiling--winter is when Death Valley comes alive. Wearing a t-shirt while looking up at the rim of snow-capped peaks surrounding you, you might even get to catch a rare desert rain shower in America's driest national park. Despite the fact that there's no better time to visit, you still won't see many people--just a smattering of outdoorsy Californians, hot springs nuts, photographers, hardcore campers (it gets cold at night!), and geology nerds.
