Sean Hannity: U.S. Can 'Go In' To Kuwait, Iraq, 'Take All Their Oil' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 01/16/11 10:35 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:25 PM ET

On his Friday show, Sean Hannity wondered why Iraq and Kuwait hadn't "[paid] for their own liberation" by the United States, and said that America has the right to "go in there...and take all their oil."

Hannity was speaking to his nightly "Great American Panel." The panel was discussing high oil prices. Hannity was incredulous and angry at the prospect of oil prices climbing:

" I say why isn't Iraq paying us back with oil, and paying every American family and their soldiers that lost loved ones or have injured soldiers -- and why didn't they pay for their own liberation? For the Kuwait oil minister -- how short his memory is. You know, we have every right to go in there and frankly take all their oil and make them pay for the liberation."

Huffington post really knows how to amuse me. Just when you think the conservatives have learned their lesson not to showboat their political conceptions irrationally; along comes a nitwit like this guy and proves all our hopes wrong. What? Iraq paying back the States with its oil? They’ve paid you back with blood – does that count? Guess the levels of fatuousness is once again proved infinite.

Kuwait never forgot who liberated it, it not only paid for the war of liberation with other friendly nations, check http://people.psych.cornell.edu/~fhoran/gulf/GW_cost/GW_payments.html , it continue to pay the US in many ways such as giving the us basis, at no cost, to invade iraq, but also give the US aide when its needed, such as the USD 500 MILLION grant given to the victime of katrina (the highest in the world). The
US doesnt need totally ignorant people to ruin such relationships who ignore facts.

Hannity is quite possibly the dumbest white guy in the US ever to be paid a lot of money for doing a job typically reserved for intelligent people! He is a dummy of the first order.

His sense of American entitlement is simply based on his ignorance of how the real world is really operating. I have no doubt that he, and all his followers think, and believe, that the oil in Kuwait or Arabia, or all those "Chinese" goods pouring onto the docks at Longbeach are actually manufactured by the Chinese Government, or by "Chinese Companies"! They are manufactured by, or for, US companies!!

Oil prices, and the prices and volumes of Chinese good flowing into the US, are determined by the US corporations who control US demand (i.e. the US economy). US demand and consumption is the largest determinant of the prices of global goods and services. Thus, the reason oil prices are high is because US corporations are still determined to satisfy US demand for energy with legacy assets that they have in place, rather than develop new assets that shift the energy source required to power the goods they sell.

Why? Because the cost of those legacy assets has long been written off & paid, but they still generate billions of cash flow...and thus huge returns on equity. Those returns can be reported in the press and hyped to make even more money for them by encouraging people to buy their stock!!

Hannity is clueless.

Sean Hannity and his ILK at FOX PROPAGANDA (aka FOX News)
and the worst of all Americans:
His SUPPORTERS who watch his "SHOW" and buy the products of his
HORRIBLE SPONSORS
are the NEO-CRUSADERS
who are MOSTLY of European Origin (Mostly Brits; Germans; French; Dutch; Belgians; etc.)
who long to their past of
COLONIALISM & SLAVERY!

It is SHOCKING that some African Americans and other MINORITIES in the USA
follow him just like the
FEW NATIVES of Africa who helped the SLAVE TRADERS kidnap their own people!

Sweet Jesus. All these ungrateful countries that don't hand over what's left of their resources after we torture, rendition, rape, pillage, imprison and massacre their land, customs, families and environment. I mean WHAT are these people thinking? When somebody ruins your life forever you should THANK THEM. That's what I was taught anyhow.

Gotta run, need to change some US history books to reflect that OUR god has way better manners and all others are worshiped by savages.

So "we" go in an "liberate" their oil.
Even if "we" own the oil, it is still going to be sold on the open market. Supply and demand will still rule the day. The OPEC ministers determine the volume, and that controls price — but if "we" took over their oil wells, would it be any different? I doubt it. You're still dealing with the same world oil system. Even if we pump the bejeebers out of Alaska, it's still not "our" oil. The petroleum system is privately owned. All "we" get is a little political control.

It's almost as if he thinks that the government would distribute it evenly amongst U.S. citizens, or even just our energy companies. Hey wait a minute, that sounds a little bit like....

Yeah! Iraq should PAY for us invading their country and liberating (killing) the people! Let's go steal from them now!

The price of oil is determined by supply and demand shawn. You love capitalism so much why cant you understand that simple primes. China and India are demanding more oil as well as the rest of the world. Shawn really needs to grow up.

This is why we have many enemies because of the attitude you have about if you don't get what you want then just go in with guns and take it. Thuggery may help you in the short term but it will cause you much trouble in the long term.

Rule of law and rules of microeconomics are principles of convenience with Fox spincompoops like Hannity. Unfortunately though, there are a lot of Americans who simply accept anything they say as a matter of faith, facts and reality being so liberally biased and all. There is really no point in arguing with true believers, they will only become more entrenched in their delusion and denial. Better to find a work around and let the delusional wallow in the sorry fate they invite.

I assume he also feels that Iraqis (and Saudis, Afghans, Tunisians, and the people of Sout and Central America) are also entitled to 'Go In' to the US and take stuff as compensation for the years they have had to (and continue to, in a lot of cases) live unliberated lives under US supported corrupt and oppressive regimes?

Did France ever pay us back after we liberated them? Did the rest of Western Europe? Japan? When did we start charging for the blood of our troops? I agree, Iraq and Kuwait have a poor way of showing friendship and alliance (afterall, how many Kuwaitis were on the 9/11 aircraft?) but I don't remember a contract, or price for liberation being discussed prior to our most recent wars. I believe Rumsfeld said the invasion of Iraq would only cost around $50 billion, but that was before they sent him to the retirment home (the one with the padded walls). Besides, wouldn't taking their oil conflict with the conservative's free trade mantra? Isn't better to give the store away than take it? Hannity, you seem confused.

I agree with Sean. I'm not going all the way to the middle east though, I'll just siphon the gas directly out of his tank.
