Boston Blazers Mascot Gets 3 Lap Dances During Halftime Show (VIDEO)

First Posted: 01/17/11 12:08 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:25 PM ET

Fans attending the Boston Blazers' lacrosse game on Saturday were stunned to see their team's mascot receive lap dances from three different women during the halftime show at Boston's TD Garden.

It began with the Blazers mascot, Scorch, sitting in a chair on a red carpet in the middle of the pitch. Three "scantily clad" women then competed to give the mascot the best lap dance in front of hundreds of fans.

According to the New York Daily News, fans were furious over the show, "especially those who took their young kids" to the game.

"They put this red carpet down and there's Scorch sitting in a chair," said Catherine Smith, a passionate Blazers fan. "And you see girls walking up to him and start giving him a lap dance. And it's like what's going on. I kind of had to let the shock run through me, it was really weird."

On Sunday, the Blazers President and GM Doug Reffue posted a statement apologizing for the halftimeshow:

The Boston Blazers halftime act for Saturday's game was clearly not executed according to plan. We are extremely disappointed with elements of the halftime show," he wrote. "We had intended to provide an entertaining and fun halftime environment for our fans and that is not what transpired. The Boston Blazers organization values our fans and have taken their feedback very seriously.

Who approved this idea?!
I'm sure the idea came to some marketing guys over a few beers and they were playing the "what if" game.

We are sorry just doesn't seem to cut it. How stupid do you have to be to think this would be ok?? Next halftime maybe they should measure mens privates!!

We worship money, sex and the entertainment and sports industries in this country and then we're suprised by this type of a half-time show? Sorry... that's par for the course as far as I'm concerned.

In the words of one of my favorite musicians, "you can't be a pimp and a prostitute too."

They have amazing video technology in that league. I can't imagine why it's not taking off.

It didn't go according to plan? That "boing" sound effect was accidental? Oh for the days when people just apologized.

As an old gentlemen's club customer, I humbly submit that this was not the time or the place for such a display.  The room needs to be smaller, darker, smellier, etc...

I'm pretty sure Ron Burgundy wouldn't think that was a good idea.

Stay classy Boston Blazers
