At the end of the second period of Friday night's NCAA hockey game between the Minnesota Gophers and North Dakota Fighting Sioux, benches cleared and a huge brawl broke out after a hard hit on Gophers defenseman Kevin Wehrs.
North Dakota's Brad Malone delivered a hard check and smashed Wehrs into the boards as time expired.
After the hit, both benches cleared and the brawl began near center ice. Six players were given penalties for the fight and the Gophers went on to win 3-2.
