Cult of personality in action, famous for who she married and little else.

It is argued that Ms. Ono is the most famous Japanese person in the world--I agree.

A fascinating individual. A titan of twentieth-century culture. Artist - poet - musician - muse - master media manipulator - culture maven - pop icon. Always has something interesting to say - always a different perspective.

A true artist sees what we see - but differently than we do - and then shows it to us in a way that we never see it in the same way again. To do that once is amazing - to do it again and again is the rarest of gifts.

Yoko Ono is truly a gifted woman...

A few years ago i walked into a bunch of art studios/galleries that had just opened in LA. One of them happened to be showing some small pieces and photos of Ms Ono. I was blown away and have been a fan ever since. She really is a great artist, both fine and performance. I don't know that she'd be any more successful had she not met Lennon, but I have no doubt her work would be taken a lot more seriously, and she'd be considered one of the "leading" artists of her time.

Yes, I think that in many ways her own work as an artist was overshadowed by that.
