Vivienne Westwood Shows Royal Wedding-Inspired Menswear Collection (PHOTOS, POLL)

First Posted: 01/18/2011 9:34 am   Updated: 05/25/2011 6:25 pm

Vivienne Westwood -- yes, she who put worst-dressed Helena Bonham Carter in mismatched shoes for Sunday night's Golden Globes -- has a new muse: Prince William. At her menswear show in Milan, she showed a slew of Wills-inspired looks and her show notes read, "With royal marriage in the air, who would you choose to be your bridegroom? Come on girls, our catwalk is your chance to dream," the Telegraph reports.

And dream, Westwood did. Among the three-piece suits were some bizarro knits and some sweaters we'd steal if we were Kate.

What would William wear? Any of this? Take a look and tell us what you think.

OMG....if a guy dressed like that asked me out for a date I'd start HOWLING and run in the opposite direction. Arf arf ..or should that be Barf, Barf...

Have any of you ever seen a real fashion show? Compared to past Westwood shows where she sent both genders down the runway in 9 inch platforms, this show is a little mundane. Seriously, why comment if your just going to react like a 13 year old 'OMG they're wearing make-up."

All the models are thinking, "God, I hope none of my friends see me wearing red lipstick."

Dear Lawd - they look like extras from one of the "Twilight" movies. Hideous.

Yeah....I could totally see William turning up in one of these. And then I could see the Queen, gathering up her gloves and purse, motioning to Phillip, and marching out, straight up the Abbey.

I would be the best moment in television, EVER.

"I could totally see William turning up in one of these..." The lipstick too? That WOULD be something to see.

A wedding at Westminster Abbey with a Prince as the bridegroom calls for a morning coat at the very least. Rumor has it that he has already chosen to wear his military dress uniform, as he is still in the military. As for Westwood, she is so off-the-wall that I doubt any member of the Windsors would go near her designs!

How this woman has managed to make living doing this escapes me.

William, if you must go British, stick with Alfred Dunhill.

Their bespoke department can handle you quite nicely and your fans will thank you.  :)

the line is inspired by the wedding, not designed for. perhaps you should visit a museum and view a collection of her iconic designs from over the last 40 years. I hear prince philip is wearing dunhill.

Love the lip color, but not on the guys. Sorry, I draw the line at guy-liner & manscara.

What's with the pants being so long and baggy in the crotch. #6 reminds me of some jokes I've heard. And I'm not even going to say what I think of #4

I couldn't help noticing how the crotches in many of the looks are baggy. If a baggy crotch is intentional, it's an unattractive design. I wouldn't purchase clothes so poorly tailored. But as far as Westwood the icon goes--hats off! Fashion shows are fantasy and artistic. Few looks are really suitable for every-day wear by anyone.
