Bria Murphy, Eddie's Daughter, Lands Dark And Lovely Deal (PHOTOS)

Move over, Rumer Willis! A new celeb spawn is making herself known. Meet Bria Murphy, 21, Eddie Murphy's daughter and the new face of Dark and Lovely, the leading beauty brand for women of color, WWD reports.

The fashion newspaper caught up with Bria at the launch party for her campaign on Tuesday night and she said she's been looking for modeling and acting work for the last two years and that her new gig was the perfect fit, adding, "I have been relaxing my hair with Dark & Lovely since I was 11." She'll star in print and television campaigns for Dark and Lovely's Healthy Gloss 5.

The product she represents (all relaxers really) are bad for Black women's hair follicles and these products should be taken off the market because they contain the equivalent of lye. The box says 'no lye formula" but the ingredient that straightens the hair is the comparable to lye and many Black women have developed horrible scalp conditions to the point that their hair doesn't grow anymore.

Just because you don't like relaxers, and even if think they are not safe, they shouldn't be taken of the market.

It's my choice to use relaxers, and it's your choice not to.

They should be taken off the market because people like you will use them regardless of the detrimental effect it has on your hair follicles. The FDA is suppose to keep such products away from consumers but since industry lobbyists own Washington, for the most part, its up to an educated consumer to protect themselves. So you are correct in that you may continue to maim yourself at your leisure, it‘s your choice, enough said.
