We all know what happens when you walk and look at your phone at the same time: accidents happen (seriously, click here to laugh). Well now, you can avoid running into things while you are reading e-books on your smartphone by using the MegaReader app. MegaReader announced a new feature, the "Heads Up Display". This feature overlays the e-book text onto a live feed coming from the phone's front-facing camera.

I keep coming up with reasons why civilization as we knew it is DEAD DEAD DEAD DEAD and wouldn't ya know it, something new comes up . But then some of these days the demise of the smart phone and the "tablet" will generate the same kind of head shaking anomie. oh well.....

Interesting concept. However how many people read books whilst walking? Nowadays it seems people are all running around with their noses stuck in their blackberries BBMing each other
