Bachmann To Give Her Own State Of The Union Rebuttal

WASHINGTON -- House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) will be offering the formal Republican response to President Barack Obama's State of the Union address Tuesday night.

But for those conservatives who want more of a tea-flavored rebuttal, fret not: Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) will be giving her two cents, as well.

The Minnesota Republican's office confirmed to The Huffington Post that she intends to broadcast a prerecorded message through the Tea Party Express website once Obama is done speaking.

"She will be doing it," a Bachmann spokesman said. "We don't know all the details. But it is something that the Tea Party Express will record."

The news -- which is undoubtedly as welcomed by progressives as it is by conservatives -- was announced through the Tea Party Express email list earlier in the day:

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has confirmed with us that she will broadcast her response to Barack Obama's State Of The Union address this Tuesday. You'll be able to watch her rebut Obama via her address which will be broadcast on our website: www.TeaPartyExpress.org

A second opinion is required for many medical procedures. Why not get a second opinion about the state of the union from another group that isn't the republocrats or demicans.

normally you would like a response that isn't recorded BEFORE the State of the Union ..
how can you rebutt what you haven't listened to?
seriously, lack of listening is really apparent here

Who is going to give the Democratic Party rebuttal to the SOTU address?

A few suggestions - Barney Frank, Alan Grayson, Howard Dean, Dennis Kucinich.

Bernie Sanders isn't technically a Democrat, but as far as I'm concerned he's more of a Democrat than Obama. Why isn't he giving a rebuttal?

Obama as a sock-it-to-the-rich socialist? We can hope...

Well said, the hypocracy of the "Obama's a Socialist" nonsence is that about 1/8th of America (the same number of people who are tea party-ers) are wishing that he was. Then, perhaps, we would truly have change we can believe in.

Will any one be listening?

For the comedy content, sure. It's sure to be fodder for Jon Stewart.

"Will any one be listening?"

You know, when I read the headline ("Bachmann To Give Her Own State Of The Union Rebuttal"), I had a similar thought, better expressed as whiskey golf alpha foxtrot?

I wonder what drugs this woman is on? Her grip on reality is tenuous at best. The good people of Minnesota need to also get a reality check, as they put this embarrassment in the Congress.

I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if we learned she was caught driving across the country wearing a diaper with a bible on one hand and sh0t g.un on the other babbling something incoherently about the mythical founding fathers.

the good people of minnesota have the highest voting rates in the country. The rest of thr countries voting record is what is embrassing.

She likes to hear herself talk and see herself on television. Why do any of us care?

Who cares?

Honestly, The Tea Party is a minority that can bring out the faithfull in the bielections, but they are way outnumbered in the Presidential years. With Progressives it's the inverse.

And people wonder why Marco Rubio is distancing himself (not that he was ever close or cared) from the Tea Party. Because the majority of them come across like Bachmann, Palin, and DeMint. Rubio may be a neoCon who will surely further pad the pockets of his SoFL cronies, but he ain't dumb. He has his eye on the White House and he knows that path does not go through the tea party.

I don't know about the rest of you but I don't think I'll waste 10 minutes of my life listening to her in a pre-canned rebuttal.

Buckle up. Here comes more blatant lies, twisted logic, and deviations from reality. How can someone be satisfied with being seen as truthful to around one fifth of the American Public? Hip waders are optional.

How can a pre-recorded message be a "reply" to Obama's speech? Does she have prior knowledge of what he will say? Did Tricky Dicky leave some of those naughty bugs in place?

This woman is such an embarrassment sometimes one wonders if she's not a Democratic agent-provocateur.
