Jay Cutler Jersey Burned By Bears Fans After Loss To Packers (VIDEO)

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has been receiving an enormous amount of criticism after leaving the NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers in the third quarter with a knee injury.

Bears fans took the criticism of their quarterback even further, burning Cutler's jersey after the 21-14 loss.

"When the going gets tough, just quit. Jay Cutler did," said one fan in the video below.

"Say goodbye to Jay Cutler," another fan said, burning the jersey in front of children.

almost all negative remarks re:jay cutler by nfl players were from black players, a far larger
percentage than are in the nfl. has anyone addressed the issue of black
racism or prejudice against white people ? from what i've observed, it's
rampant. E.g., i've seen thousands of white people over the years wearing sports apparel
with names of black athletes on them, but have never seen a black person wearing
something bearing a white player's name. it's prevalent in the media, as well(deion sanders,
michael wilbon, steven a. smith, etc.)

Just remember, football is a job. For a sport in which players can be heroes today and villains tomorrow, be signed and cut at will without any compensation why do some think he should have risked his leg/health if he wasn't up to it?
Besides, he wasn't playing great before the injury. Caleb, should be shown some love for his effort.

The biggest problem is that people saw Caleb freaking out looking at the playbooks on the sideline and Cutler wasnt even helping his guy...thats an integrity issue, thats Heart.

Meanwhile Vick and Kolb were shoulder to shoulder, talking, advising, and acting like members of a team who want to win when Vick was hurt.

Thats the difference.

Oh, BS! There are lots of currents at work but race is not one of them. 1) Cutler is deemed arrogant and not likable by many in the media and game alike. 2) There are plenty of athletes who are jealous that Cutler was able to force a trade to a team of his choosing and get a contract extension. Lots want to do the same but are not able. 3) Cutler plays QB, the pretty-boy position. Under normal circumstances other players (defensive ones in particular) hate QB's because they are deemed soft but, get the most money and limelight.

Cutler wasn't the first QB to get injured in a game. Remember Colt McCoy of TX going out in the first minute against Alabama in the national championship game a year ago.
Vince Young demanded to go back in when he was injured, threw a fit about it, and it got him released.
I see a lot of people here and on twitter playing doctor. Go ahead, Bears fans, demand that he be released, and we'll see where that gets you.

Yep, I'll be there. If they let me. The game is serious to me, and I love the Bears. I meant no harm by disposing of Jay's jersey. I'm sure he's a great guy and he won't be bothered by it at all. He's tough as nails, but his behavior (not injury) was the nail in the coffin of respect. I can't speak for the drunks that burned his jersey while cussing and urinating on it, but this was our way of closing a chapter in our book of Bears fanship and moving on. It worked for us, but unfortunately riled up some "tough guys" behind their computer screens.

We've put him past us, now it's time for you guys to do the same. Go out and get some fresh air. Hey, maybe even throw the football around.

Pride goeth before the fall. I can't believe a spiritual man like your self would teach you kids to judge so superficially as some cherry picked camera shots after a guy put his life on the line the whole season to get your beloved Bears to the NFC Championship. Tell me, why didn't Jay quit after he took 9 sacks against the Giants earlier this season. Or he threw 4 interceptions to one guy and was proud enough to say he would throw to him again. His been a Bear for two seasons and taken over 100 sacks and you call him a quitter? You talk about the storied history of the Bears but you forget about the recent history in which you have been searching for a QB for 20 years and you finally get a rare talent he does nothing but show up to work every day for two season busting his hump, this according to his coaches and teammates, and bring you to with in a game of the Superbowl and you burn his jersey and call him a quitter because its YOUR way of dealing with the lose? I hope Jay leaves because if this is how the fans are going to treat him HE deserves better and the Bears deserve to wallow as mediocre at beset franchise its been recently

Yep, that's how we dealt with it. And it worked for us. We moved on. I wish the best for Jay, as I know he's a good man, just not our man. Have you not watched a Bears game? Have you not seen his sulky, 'woes me' attitude and how he leads his team to a pity party every other game? Look around at other pro quarterbacks in the league and you'll see what I mean.

No need to get all huffy about this - it was just a personal demonstration of how we dealt with our team's loss. Your keyboard is not a weapon, go outside and throw the ball around or something.
