Louis CK On Sarah Palin, 'Louie'

Good thing Louis CK has his own show: he's got a lot to say. Including about Sarah Palin.

The comedian and creator of the FX cult-smash 'Louie' spoke with Alan Sepinwall of HitFix.com, opening up about his complete control over his show, the Late Night wars -- and his tweets about Sarah Palin.

Blazingly funny, the show is a bit off beat in its approach -- something that the star aims for.

"I like to keep people off-balance, so I like to give them sh*t they really like and then suddenly lead them happily down a road to somewhere disturbing," CK said. "And all of a sudden they go, 'How the f*ck did I get to watching this?'"

He also talked about the writing process for the second show of the season:

I think about the show as an experience for the viewer and myself as a viewer sort of. Right now I'm still writing... So I have a board with cards of different colors according to where the scripts are. One of them says "balls funny." The "balls funny" card is really an intimidating card to me. It's really important. So it's "balls funny," "who cares," "really disturbing" is another card. And one of them is, like, "cinematic jerk-off," I think. That's where I enjoy myself.

As for Palin, whom he called out in a series of explicit tweets in 2010, CK said that he sometimes forgets how much power his words instantly have on Twitter -- and reported that he got some threatening messages from people in power. Still, he doesn't regret the sentiment of what he said.

How f***ing sacred is this person who's never contributed one thing to anyone's life but her own? And not even thinking about her politically or whatever she represents, it's just that she's just a coarse, selfish person who has ferocious protection and it makes no sense to me... By the way, I said something that I think is true, I wrote one Twitter that I said, please find me a picture of Sarah Palin with more than one black person because I couldn't find one. And then she went to Haiti a week later. She threw together a trip to Haiti. So I believe I made that happen. So that's positive.

Palin is a fake riding on the remote possibility that she "might" be a candidate, all for the notoriety that earns her $$$.$$$.$$$.$$. There is NO possibility whatever that she could qualify as a candidate for anything other than? Hey! she should become a wrestler so she could use her hate knocking others around. Whatever,! that woman should keep quiet, or is she now trying to outdo Bachman? The folks(TeaBaggers) who support her are DUMB as rocks. She's Not going to be a candidate, and anyway, most people, that is those with brains, would laugh her out of town. Why is Sarah even discussed these days? She is in NO WAY affiliated with the government anymore and therefore, has no more say in the course of things than any other citizen. For that reason alone, I find it easy to ignore her. I wish everyone else would.

But before I do, I just want to tell you guys something: You don't have to hate the conservative in this country. Do you realize that we are more like the hippies of the 60s than you are? Why do we keep hearing about Palin?? because of the many articles on the Huffington Post, and the democrats complaining about her.I don't understand all the bashing. This guy is just another uninformed clone of the left. You can see a million pictures of me and not find one black guy in them. And? WTF does that mean? Am I supposed to take pictures taken of me with black guys to show how mutlicultural I am? Notice how it's only these libs who use race as a weapon. They must feel blacks are somehow unequal to whites. For though I have many friends of differing races, religions, and political nuances, I have absolutely ZERO responsibility to show them. Louie's comment about not seeing her in a picture with more than one black person is just his observation. You can take whatever meaning from that you want, but the observation is true. You're making it far more about race than Louie did. He says one observational sentence, and you write a paragraph rebuttal to it, demonstrating your own insecurity.

A "selfish person who has ferocious protection and it makes no sense to me." More worrisome are the people who provide that protection and who make even less "sense." She represents and is is protected by the lower end of both the intelligence and the critical thinking bell curves. Perhaps more significantly she is promoted by those that market their products in those lower cerebral demographics - like News Corp. She has now become not only a conservative party wedge, she has also become a progressive red herring. There are far more threats from the conservatives than Palin - like the cost of their dead weight of their lack of planning, corporate whoring and total lack leadership.

The news part that needs considered is his calling Sarah Palin "sacred" This is the point that needs discussed. If we disagree with her than we are elitists, whether it is honest disagreement or frustrated references to our view of her overall mental capabilities. We can't win, and we can't even discuss the substance of her views with these acolytes. This is half of one of our two major parties, voters-wise that's 10% of America! The serious issue of Sarah Palin is the strength of a CULT.

Sacred is the word this blog uses. Not any of us on the right. So, clean your own house first.
You don't offer intelligent argument against Sarah. You attack unwittingly, without reference, and unfairly. Mental capabilities? Tell me how she lacks intelligence as compared to lets say, Obama, the teleprompter king; the antagonizer of our allies, uplifter of our enemies; refusing the help of 13 countries who offered their services to aid in the gulf spill (at the earliest of stages); a pres who bows to everyone but the plumber; who antagonizes the majority of voters; who believes America is the world's bane, not her healer or beacon of hope, and so forth.

You can't win? You will win at the expense of a free society, a morally sound people, and faith.
But expect no sympathy from us on the right. You will receive no quarter as you have established the battlefield and rules of engagement. It is your party, your ideologies on the left that stupefy, befuddle, enrage, create walls.

What is the substance of her views?

Cult? Cult? I find that argument hilarious considering the enormous grace this president has received but not earned. Great example: The NOBEL PEACE PRIZE. That was a disgrace. Nothing really said about it. But, guys like Matthews gets a tingle down his leg when the pres speaks. That sounds cultish to me. I remember people fainting when Obama walked into a room. So where is your esteemed Palin hiding out when she twitters or twits or facebooks? Why doesn't she come out of hiding and do a face to face conversation to prove exactly how intelligent she is? As much as i have no respect for SP - it may be best for progressives to keep her around - surely she has no ability or prospect for senior office in America since she is splitting the far right vote and galvanizing folks to support those who care about America for the long term.
