Sarah Palin

Mother Jones:

Responding to criticism she received after the January 8 Tucson shootings, Sarah Palin referred to death threats she and her children have received, suggesting that the Palin clan have been victims of heated political rhetoric.

An aide noted that the Palin team was consulting with security professionals. Andree McLeod, a prominent Palin critic in Alaska, could also use such help, for she has been publicly threatened with assassination--just for requesting, under Alaska's open records act, the work-related emails Palin sent and received while governor.

It is appalling how vindictive sarah and her camp are toward anyone who even asks questions.

Of all the traits that a free people don't want in a public official that would top the list.

I was thinking today that it was so nice that I had not heard anything from Palin after SOTU last night. I was channel-surfing in the last hour and lo and behold, SP was being "grilled" by Greta on Fox News. Why I stopped and watched, I don't know; but I do confess my lack of judgement. I would really like to give SP an opportunity to show that she has critical-thinking skills, that she can explain a complex problem; but the only responses to Greta's questioning were the same regurgitated "common sense ideas" that lack any depth and are mostly spoken in "sound bites." She doesn't even bother to think whether the response has anything to do with the question. She must have 20 memorized sentences bouncing around in her head. At any moment, she can only recall one of these 20 sentences. I think even Greta was thinking to herself that SP is over. Pride and ego and lack of introspection have been the downfall of many, meaning that SP will soon be a footnote in history.

After reading the entire article, I have even less respect for Palin or her supporters... if that's really possible.

palin's death threats are black and white and sometimes multi colored hallucinations she has regularly, on the same order of the many many who hallucinate daily they are actually
threatening palin..

Who is responsible for Sarah Palin?

Sarah Palin has a problem. With just months to go before the GOP field for the 2012 presidential race starts filling up like shoppers queuing for a Wal-Mart black Friday sale, polls show that she is the most intensely disliked politician in America.

Since the mid-term elections alone, she has lost ground not only with Republicans, but with the ever important independents and especially women. How could this have happened to the Wasilla hockey mom that stormed onto the national stage over two years ago, bringing heat and light to an otherwise drab political scene?

Yes you could place some blame on the intense media coverage. You could place some blame on how lovers and haters alike scrutinize every word she tweets or facebooks, raising constant questions about her understanding of domestic and international affairs. And you can even place blame on Palin herself for not fully thinking out what she says before she says it, thereby setting herself up for criticism.

But the real blame lies closer to home, here in Alaska.

I think the below epitomizes the far right repubs.....

"This 50-something Anchorage woman does maintain a MySpace page. On the site, she lists her interests as camping, hunting, and praising the Lord. The page is full of references to Jesus. One graphic on the page cites Jesus as her "anti-drug." She mentions that she has two children with military experience."

It would seem that you support death threats coming from Jesus advocates.

Personally, I find something very wrong with that, and I also find it much too common in this country.

As I type this there have been 666 comments, if thats not telling I don't know what is. Palin and her klan of misfits should just fade away. With each passing day she becomes more of a footnote, she and her "family" are undeserving of the attention paid them. These people are not good examples of anything, let alone a family.

I find it hard to believe that the Tea Party or Republican party for that matter really thought that Palin was a good counter to Obama.

Palin was chosen as the "anti-Obama". She was chosen because someone in the Republican establishment thought they could find an attractive looking, charismatic, yet unqualified intellectually weak coutnerpart, as if to tell the democrats that they chose a black guy just because he's black. As if to affirm the notion that either blacks are unqualified or to make it seem that the dimmest bulb of a white candidate is still intellectually superior to the best black candidate out there. Palin was nothing more than a sarcastic cynical response to Obama. It shows in her attitude, her reflexive nature of taking everything Obama does and finding fault with it.

I say this because the Republican party, heck, even the tea party could have chosen a female candidate that has much more quality, much more intellectual power, and more marketability. People like

Murkowski
Olympia Snowe
Susan Collins
Kay Bailey Hutchison

Really... they chose someone who is an intellectual featherweight to these women, who, even though I don't agree with their platforms, I have much more respect for and could trust with the country's national security far more than Sarah Palin.

The Palin choice had nothing to do with race and everything to do with age. The GOP wanted a young up-and-comer to counter the fact that McCain was old as dirt and the fact that Obama was a young rising star. Poor choice in hindsight, but nothing racist about it.
