Glenn Beck Responds To Charges Of Anti-Semitism (AUDIO)

Glenn Beck responded to charges that he is anti-Semitic on the same day that 400 rabbis took out a full-page newspaper ad calling for him to be "sanctioned" for his repeated invocations of Nazis and the Holocaust.

Speaking on his radio show, Beck did not directly address the rabbis' letter, which urged News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch to stop Beck from making analogies to the Holocaust, and which condemned his "completely unacceptable" attacks on liberal billionaire George Soros--attacks many have called anti-Semitic.

It was the latest in a string of charges people have leveled against Beck. Earlier this week, Atlantic writer Jeffrey Goldberg noted that eight out of nine people Beck highlighted as especially dangerous to America on one program were Jewish. Beck mocked the notion that such a thing was connected to anti-Semitism on his part.

He also noted that he had just released a new documentary about Iran called "Rumors of War," which he said was as high-quality as an episode of PBS' "Frontline."

"Did you see the anti-Semitism dripping out of 'Rumors of War?'" Beck said. "It's amazing how anti-Semitic I am, on the day that we release 'Rumors of War,' that was a year in production."

When will he learn that sarcasm and yelling loudly does not a legitimate argument make? Facts have no place in Glenbeckistan... only angry and incendiary rhetoric and demonization of those he disagrees with (sound like Hitler, maybe?). Oh, and he is obviously above any criticism, because fact-checking and criticizing the deliberate--or even ignorant--omission of fact means the critic is "self-sanctimonious," or an "Ivy-league elitist." Yes, Beck's constant references to Nazis, Hitler and the Holocaust are both inaccurate and offensive to those who had to endure such hardships. Would that he had to endure such horrors before making casual, insipid references.

Beck constantly tells his listeners about the Nazi's. Growing up in Europe and a student of pre-Nazi Germany, nearly 90% of what Beck claims is totally false and backwards. One of the disinformation tactics of the Third Reich is EXACTLY what Beck does. And that is to point the finger first to his opponents as the worst enemy you can imagine. Beck relies on the ignorance of his listeners to true and documented history to make his point. Most people not aware of pre-WWII Germany only know Nazi's are/were "bad." Beyond that, they don't even have a clue on how they became to power. The Nazi's were born from the Extreme Right Wing. NOT the left as he constantly points out. The Nazi's made the left and Jews the enemy stating that it is they who are creating chaos (sound like Limbaugh any?) and that only through order brought by the Nazi government can chaos be overcome. The Teaparty has more in common with True Nazi-ism than any other group of people other than the Aryan Brotherhood. But as long as Beck can use the ignorance of his followers to believe the enemy (Liberals), are the Nazi's, then he can scare you and promote his agenda.

uh, no... I didn't say it wasn't socialist. It WAS socialist, but Prussia and it's influence and the loss of the first world war put it into economic distress. Hitler disbanded the Socialist Unions. (What Beck and Limbaugh want to do). Unemployment was high, so he built his army by hiring the unemployed into the military. Oh my, sounds REALLY socialist doesn't it? Actually you reinforce my statement. Again, you confirm exactly my point. Hitler was from an extreme conservative right wing movement. He was born from Fascism. and you just confirmed my statement.

Hitler was not born from socialism. He was against socialism. Beck has people total spun around and you just proved it.

Poor Glenn thought his neocon propaganda "documentary" would immunize him from criticism. Jeffrey Goldberg, who served in the Israeli military and is a hawk on Iran, did not see it that way. You can only hold your nose for so long. Glenn Beck engages in the same type of anti-Semitic fearmongering that got the Birchers kicked out of the conservative movement 50 years ago.

btw, why is Beck saying his "documentary" is as of high of quality as Frontline. Isn't PBS supposed to be a Soros funded communist propaganda organ working to destroy our way of lives?

"Rumors of War" was not done by Beck so why is he taking credit for it? Beck goes after George Soros, a survivor of the Shoah repeatedly in very nasty ways and so he thinks he isn't antisemitic? Antisemitism is only one of many faults Beck has.
