Kristen Stewart: fairy tale princess?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kristen Stewart is in talks to play Snow White in the upcoming dramatic re-imagining of the fairy tale, 'Snow White and the Huntsman.' The mercurial Stewart knows the role of beautiful girl in distress well, having starred as the star-crossed vampire lover Bella Swan in the smash hit 'Twilight Saga' films.

And while she wouldn't be paired with a century old vampire, if Stewart takes the role, she'll have an actual older man as her protector: Viggo Mortensen is in talks to play the role of the Huntsman, a character who is charged with finding and capturing Snow White, but ends up mentoring and training her.

Stewart will also have to face another evil queen, to be played by Charlize Theron, who was cast earlier in January.

If Stewart is cast, it'll represent a second change of heart of sorts for the film's producers -- originally, they considered big names such as Stewart for the role, then turned their sites on unknown actresses, before apparently coming to their financial senses and heading back to the big names.

I wonder what it's like to always be type cast as a victim. This is one movie I am going to avoid.

She'll be able to do the sleeping parts great. She's the poster child for somnambulism.

Kristen Stewart must be a brilliant actress. She played Bella Swan to perfection - I wanted to slap the Bella character in the book and Stewart's performance gave me the exact same reaction.

Her as Snow White though? Hm.... Lets hope this is the same type of decision that gave us Heath Ledger as the Joker. I remember all the huff about Heath scoring that gig - turned out to be one of the best performances in a while.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is not remotely like Disney told the story.

Read the story outline. It glosses over the tones, but the ending of the definitive version has the Queen dancing to her death with iron shoes straight out of the coals. Yes. This isn't the Disney fantasy.

Kirsten can do much more than just look brooding in Twilight.

Of course it isn't. It's a Brothers Grimm story. Those fellas were extremely warped, and not in a good way.

I don't remember Snow White staring blankly at the screen. Apparently that passes for talent. There should be a moratorium on hollywood bastardizing people's childhood.

hollywood continues to ruin my childhood. First they take away the coolness of vampires and werewolves now they are going to take away the awesomeness of Fairy tales by casting twilight actors in some new re-imaging for pre-teen girls and in the process take away the meaning of the original story.

I would have to say the movie snow white: A tale of terror is the closest hollywood has gotten to the original story. I think the actress in that movie that played Snow white was the best and better looking than Stewart.

She is by far one of THE worst actresses to ever get an acting job in Hollywood! Plus she has an ungrateful, sullen attitude! Send her home.
