Meghan McCain: Michele Bachmann 'A Poor Man's Sarah Palin' (VIDEO)

Meghan Mccain Michele Bachmann

Meghan McCain, daughter of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), had some choice words Wednesday for Minnesota GOP Rep. Michelle Bachmann's secondary, Tea Party-sponsored State of the Union rebuttal, calling it the action of a "rogue," "poor man's Sarah Palin."

"I think it's important to note that Michele Bachmann is not a leader, and she's not the leader of the Repbulican Party," McCain noted, walking a similar line to that given by GOP leadership before Bachmann's address.

"Michele Bachmann is no better than a poor man's Sarah Palin," she added.

McCain then turned on her internal media critic.

"I think CNN should be ashamed of themselves for airing this," McCain said, after commending MSNBC and Fox News for choosing not to run the Bachmann's response. "It is one rogue woman who couldn't even look into the camera directly."

Even Senior White House Advisor David Axelrod took a dig at Bachmann for the same detail following the speech on Tuesday night.

Politically, I'm sure, Meghan McCain and I share different views. And, that's alright. But, I have to say, I had much love for her, for at least showing who is the real "maverick," in her family. Her father, may have been one, long ago, when it was politically okay. But, he has lost his cojones.
Miss McCain, is not afraid to tell the truth, about some of these Republican leaders, and the sheer nonsense that they are espousing.

I can respect any Republican, that truly has the best-interest of the ENTIRE country, at hand. Not, just their Special Interest friends, and supporters.

I wish more people could be more like Ms Mcain, I may not always agree with her politicly, but at least she can show respect for people she disagrees with. I hope more people learn from her example.

agreed--even though i probably don't agree with Ms. McCain on quite a few things, i imagine--I've even spelled her name with caps--i rarely do that for republicans (or democrats, frankly)--but again, she is an impressive young woman. I would like if the gop used her as a standard for selecting candidates.

Sarah Palin is a poor man's Sarah Palin.

I was told that Michele Bachmann is only about 4'10". When I listen to her talk, her notions are so absurd that I have a hard time believing that she really thinks all the things she says are true. That was until the day that she was on CNN and she gave the 2 billion cost for Obama visiting India and cited the internet as her source. Sure enough, on World Net Daily, there it was. She relys on extreme RW conspiracy sites for her news, and believes every word of it! We almost had some more of these wackos in the last election. Will we be able dodge them in 2012?

The problem is some Republicans can't keep up with the crazy talk. Some are living a outstanding life and having to spend to much time trying to make sense of the crazies. They always had crazies but now they have taken over. These are times that it is hard to be a Republican and only a few can hold on to hate day after day.Plus the way they skew facts has all Republican fact meters going hay wire.

If Republicans have any "fact" meters, they are definitely out of calibration.

How is Meghan McCain, of no other claim to fame than bearing the McCain name, relevant to the political discourse, and why is she getting air time? Like la Liz Cheney, she has no claim to fame other than her father's name.

it's a shame if the gop considers her as such--she's one of the more erudite, informed people i've seen coming from the right. she is impressive--as we used to say, i like the cut of her gib. (it's a nautical reference)

True, and yet a surprising number of them would vote for her.

"I think it's important to note that Michele Bachmann is not a leader, and she's not the leader of the Republican Party,"

Michelle Bachman IS an elected official Megan McCain and has done a lot more and earned the right to be heard a lot more than you...who simply has a famous last name.

How about you go earn the right to be heard instead of simply using your last name as a reason to spout your mouth off on TV.

I condemn Megan McCain as a demagogue who offers nothing to the GOP.

couldn't have said it better myself. best thing is...i actually had to look up demagogue. So true! Meghan McCain is a blonde-neoconservative. She is basically the God-daughter of George Bush.
01:36 AM on 01/30/2011
I don't see how Megan McCain is a demagogue. Bachmann and Palin are textbook examples of demagogues, always making wild claims based on half-truths (or no-truths), taking advantage of the prejudice and ignorance of their followers. For example, Palin's "death panels" and Bachmann's recent butchering of our country's racial history. That's what a demagogue is. Can you please explain how Megan McCain is a demagogue?

Sarah Palin's crowd is as low as it gets... after all who else but the lowest forms of life would follow a con artist like her. She's there for the money. She couldn't even finish out the term as governor, when she saw the cash to be made giving speeches. She bolted and ran for the loot. Why work she's got a the Republican/Tea baggers by the wallet.

Bachman is there for her close up shots... another Stepford wife clone. Both we can do without.

Bachman's more of a Thatcher without any class.
