Ron Flanagan, Vietnam Vet, Regains Insurance After Being Dropped Over 2-Cent Dispute (VIDEO)

Veteran Back On Transplant List After His Insurance Was Dropped Over 2-Cent Shortage (VIDEO)

Ronald Flanagan, a Vietnam vet with bone marrow cancer, had a stem cell donor on deck when his wife, Frances, delivered some crushing news. A seemingly tiny sum of a mistake was about to cost them a fortune.

Ceridian Cobra Services, an insurance benefits administrator, killed the couple's coverage when Frances accidentally typed in a 7 instead of a 9 when she paid their monthly health insurance premium of $328.69 online.

ABC News talked to Bart Valdez, Ceridian chief commercial officer, who announced that the company decided to reinstate the couple's coverage.

When asked whether he would offer Flanagan an apology, Valdez said:

"For what specifically?...We followed the normal procedures that were in complete compliance with the law and with regualtions."

Flanagan is now back on the donor list.
