Caught In A Bad Project (VIDEO): Scientists Parody Lady Gaga

Scientists at the Hui Zheng lab at Baylor College of Medicine have found an entertaining way to purge their project frustrations: dance them off to Lady Gaga.

Subbing Gaga's "Bad Romance" for a bad project, the academics voice the challenges of their vocation through lyrics like "I want good data/a paper in cell/But I got a project straight from Hell."

Excellent parody. Funny and also sings to an important issue. All new science grad students should watch it before choosing a supervisor. Grad students are often treated as free, almost slave, labor by their supervising professor, and they have very little recourse to challenge the arrangement. The power relations between professors and graduate students can be much worse than between bosses and employees. Once you have invested a few years in a project it's very difficult to challenge it as an abusive relationship or walk away. I was lucky, but I know many students who weren't.

I actually hate this.

seeing no one will probably read this....I'll see it anyhow...it takes some smarts to be able to put words together and rythm them and make them relavent

of course I like the Gaga...I think see is cool..
