Chicago Mayors Race: The REAL Issues Candidates Need To Address (POLL)

YOU DECIDE: What Are Chicago's REAL Issues?

The day Mayor Richard M. Daley announced that he would not seek a seventh term, Chicago residents and reporters mentally prepared themselves for a dramatic election season.

The city faces a more than $600 billion budget shortfall, some of Chicago's children continue to feel threatened on a daily basis by gangs and violence, parking rates are through the roof and talk of privatizing some of the city's biggest festivals has many residents crying foul.

Instead of addressing these issues, the focus has been on Rahm Emanuel. Is he really a Chicago resident? Who is giving him money? Is his brother really the inspiration for Jeremy Piven's character on "Entrourage"?

Thursday night's debate opened with a question about Emanuel's residency, which a state Supreme Court ruled was valid just an hour before. He seemed annoyed by the question, as did the other candidates. We were kind of annoyed as well (though understand why it was asked).

It's time to get down to business. What do you think the candidates should be talking about? What issues affect you and your community? Let us know by participating below.
