'My Mother's Curse': Seth Rogen, Barbra Streisand Set To Star

Barbra Streisand 'Curses' Seth Rogen

Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen have been given the green light to hit the road.

The Hollywood Reporter relays that Streisand and Rogen's long-planned film, 'My Mother's Curse,' has finally been officially picked up by Paramount Pictures, meaning the generation-spanning comedy duo are set to begin filming this spring.

Streisand will play Rogen's mother in the road trip comedy, which, according to FirstShowing.net, "follows an inventor (Rogen) who invites his mother on a cross-country trip as he tries to sell his new product while also reuniting her with a lost love."

The film will be directed by romantic comedy veteran Anne Fletcher ('The Proposal,' '27 Dresses') and based on a script by Disney veteran Dan Fogelman ('Cars,' 'Tangled,' 'Bolt'), making for an even more interesting combination of elements.

Rogen has had a number of famous on-screen parents before, including Harold Ramis in 'Knocked Up.' Most recently, Streisand reprised her role as eccentric, doting mother to Ben Stiller in 'Little Fockers.' Perhaps she'll play a doting mother figure in real life to Rogen's new finace -- he became engaged to Lauren Miller earlier in January.

Streisand is also in talks to star in and direct a big screen remake of the Broadway classic, 'Gypsy.'
