Improv Everywhere Presents: The Worst Ice Skater Ever?

The Huffington Post

In their latest guerrilla comedy scheme, Improv Everywhere gave everyone at Bryant Park's ice skating rink in NYC a big surprise when they debuted the "worst ice skater ever." The seemingly novice skater was actually professional Kenny Moir, who stayed on the ice despite it being cleared for a Zamboni-ing, and became increasingly better at skating throughout the 3-minute run. What starts as a fumbling fool confusing the onlookers becomes a triumphant professional ice skating show for all to see.

The stunt was put on in conjunction with the Ice Theatre of New York and as you'll see in the video, brought Improv Everywhere's signature mix of confusion, chaos and delight to all involved.

Too bad you couldn't get Canadian skater Gary Beacom.
He does a perfect clumsy so beautifully.

So, the crowd laughing at the large guy being clumsy on the ice is funny?

I think the loud music coming through the speakers clued them into the act. New Yorkers are used to impromptu performances.

Thanks for that tear-filled laughter! After all the news today, this seems to be just what the doctor ordered! I might add that I tried ice skating once and spent the whole time looking like this guy BEFORE the good skating! I could not have wowed, only amused. So applaud this guy for doing both.

He was a competent skater but obviously not capable of serious tricks. The big difference though is that Weir has tad more, um, style.
