PHOTOS: Californian Women Draw 'Fabrications' For San Francisco Exhibit

WHO: Fabrications, a group drawing exhibition.

WHAT: Libby Black, Jennifer Celio, Serena Cole, Melissa Manfull, and Taravat Talepasand

WHERE: Marx & Zavattero
77 Geary Street, 2nd Floor
San Francisco, CA 94108

WHEN: JANUARY 4 - FEBRUARY 5, 2011

WHY: Marx & Zavattero's first show of 2011 is Fabrications, which presents the work of five Californian women unified by themes of invention and the imaginary. The works, all on paper, range from the pastoral to the personal to the abstract, and highlights include Libby Black's self-explanatory "Chicken in Nike High Top" and Taravat Talepasand's stark, surreal "Death to Bitches."

Intimate and mysterious, the work in Fabrications promises to establish conditions of suspended animation and fantasy.

Exhibition Spotlight is an at-a-glance look at an exhibit we think you should know about.
