Anderson Cooper Scores Ratings Win After Egypt Attack

Cooper Wins The Night

Anderson Cooper's ratings soared in the wake of the attack he withstood at the hands of supporters of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Cooper's Wednesday broadcast--where he recounted the attack and aired video showing what happened--won his timeslot in the all-important A25-54 demo. The show drew 541,000 in the category. That's compared to the 475,000 who tuned in to Fox News' "On the Record."

Greta Van Susteren did beat Cooper in total viewers, but not by much. 1.3 million people watched Cooper's show, as compared to 1.7 million for Van Susteren -- a vastly smaller gap than usual. Cooper also beat "The Ed Show" on MSNBC.
