I hope they'll be okay - I've enjoyed shopping there for many years. As glorious as the internet and online shopping is, it has one big drawback - you find what you are looking for. What you see is what you search for and even if there's related links that you hop away to you are still in a bubble that you chose. When you walk into a physical bookstore you can wander the aisles, find things unexpectedly that you might never have thought to look for on purpose that could open up new ideas and worlds. For example Christopher Moore's hilarious books came into my world that way - I never would have come across them otherwise.

Give bookstores a chance :-)

I used to love Borders, never allowing myself to pass by a Borders store withoout stopping by to browse books and music selections. As time went on I watched them slowly destroy a good thing to the point where I only stopped there when I was looking for something specific.

Now that I have my wonderful Kindle, I ahve no need to go to a bookstore ever again. They have become just another retail dinosaur.

I hope they go out of business. Amazon is the best!

But if they go out of business, that will be one less place for people to browse books before they buy them on Amazon.

You gotta think these things through, you know?

Except when it comes to serendipity.
