We all know the popular Shakira lyric "You know my hips don't lie / and I'm starting to feel it's right / all the attraction, the tension / Don't you see baby, this is perfection." And she might be on to something, according to New York Times columnist Daniel Bergner, especially if those hips are part of what he calls, "a slim yet curvy paragon," more commonly referred to as a low waist-to-hip ratio.
