Michael Vick Super Bowl Party Called Off

TMZ reported on Thursday that Michael Vick was hosting a Super Bowl party in Dallas, which would be loaded with security and a SWAT team.

On Friday, Tony Dungy appeared on the Dan Patrick Show and said the party is not happening.

"He's not," Dungy said when asked why Vick was hosting a party. "He is not going to be attending. I don't know where it started or what, but he's not going to be there. I think he understands it's something that's just not worth it to him."

The Philadelphia Eagles said on Thursday that Vick would not be attending the party.

The last time Vick hosted a party was for his birthday last summer when his dog fighting co-defendant was shot. The Eagles quarterback was not present when the shooting took place.

Vick is a proverbial numskull. Obviously Dungy is advocating for him and mentoring him. It's sad that an adult needs attendants to steer him from bone-headed decisions. His long term prospects aren't very good. He has very poor judgment and his handlers cannot keep him in a bubble forever.

I agree. However, those with mental developmental delays often have physical developmental delays (ie retardation). He just seems to be a not very bright individual with horrible judgement.

Thankfully Dungy came through and talked some sense into Vick. This party was a bad idea from the start. Throw a party at your house, therefore no nonsense will take place. Vick, you know you've got a lot of irrational haters out there, be smart homey.

I wondered when I saw that ticket printed yesterday if Vick could really be that out of touch? Glad to see its not happening. As it is, with the Steelers going to strip clubs and 'Big Ben' out on the town, this Super Bowl concept is not about sports anymore, its about rich celebrities, all getting together in one place for a week of debauchery.
