Michele Bachmann Reveals 'Motivation In Life'

Michele Bachmann Obama

First Posted: 02/06/11 01:13 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:30 PM ET

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) signaled what she sees as her "motivation in life" at a Republican dinner in Montana over the weekend.

"I take my first political breath every morning with one thought in mind," the Tea Party darling told her audience, the Missoulian reports. "Repeal Obamacare... That's my motivation in life."

According to the Treasure State-based outlet, Bachmann said the health care reform package signed into law by President Barack Obama last year really "is something else." She reportedly went on to revive a criticism she's unleashed multiple times before, characterizing the legislation as "the crown jewel of socialism."

The conservative superstar used the very same language in taking aim at health care reform last month, as well as around this time last year when she suggested the bill amounted to "gangster government."

In her speech over the weekend, Bachmann said, "President Obama, and I'm willing to say it, ushered in socialism under his watch." She later added, "My opinion is we can't shut this president down fast enough."

Apes like her should not be allowed to run for office, the fact that they are elected at all is a testament to the ignorance and gullibility of Republicans. She is essentially everything the middle class should hate. She is a corporation loving middle class bashing religious nut. I expect It will be revealed that her and Sarah P. are on the pay roll of some corporation or other, hired to destroy the public sector and any chance the common man has to make it in America. I have no evidence of this now, just a hypothesis.

She's just carrying out her assignment given to her by her right wing bosses -- degrade Obama every way you can -- so the GOP can triumph in 2012. She is part of the extremist political fringe, protecting corporations and powerful monied people. If you notice, there is no deep understanding of problems in her excessive mouthings, no real interest in regular people, no intelligent philosophical arguments, and no understanding of civilization or history, or anything else. Its an appeal to the less enlightened in the population -- the right wing prescription for winning elections.

Michelle Bachmann's prime motivation in life is to turn back the clock on US healthcare. The woman is deranged. Follow her antics, on — www.dumpmichellebachmann.org — for fun and profit...

In a country where 40,000 people died last year for lack of medical care, how could someone be so cold-hearted as this? It's time to recognize that EVERY citizen has a right to quality medical care. Why should life itself be a gift only to those who can make enough money?

I cannot understand the motivation to deny millions health care in the US. Does being our brother's keeper somehow diminish opponents of health care in the least bit? Caring for our fellow humans is what makes us noble. Knocking others to the curb, especially the most vulnerable , are dishonorable acts. As the numbers of the unemployed rise, that means that more unemployed people will have no access to basics. Until the majority believe that basic humanity and health care are civil rights, then sadly, people like Bachman will flourish. This health insurance reform was just a start with so much more to do.

I haven't seen Rep. Bachmann rescind the nice healthcare package she receives from the Government as a Congresswoman. Would somebody tell Ms Bachmann that socialism is when governments not only run the programs but also own the businesses. Sadly, the right-wing propaganda machine is successful because most people don't know the difference.

Thank you! F&F for that. It's frustrating to see right wing fanatics throw around words like "marxist", "socialist", and "communist", when we are so far from those it's hilarious to watch - if it wasn't so destructive to our national discourse.

When are the REAL Christians on the right going to call out these utter hypocrites that make everyone wonder if there IS such a thing as a decent, honest Christian anymore?

This shrew deserves to be locked up at a mental facility but because she can raise money, she is considered a good politician by the right. Was there ever a dumber bunch of human beings in history?

Her election is really a function of gerrymandering of her district and her ability to attract campaign donations from conservatives outside her district. Her social views, although shared by many Catholics in the rural parts of her district, are based more on a fundamental Protestantism. Her law degree is from Oral Roberts Univ. (now Regents) a fundamental Christian college.

She holds many core beliefs -- including believing that the U.S. Constitution is divinely inspired by a Christian God.

I don't think Bachmann could win a statewide race in Minnesota. People here appreciate unusual candidates (Ventura / Franken / Perpich), but not those entirely detached from reality. But I would never underestimate her -- she is a tigress, however goofy her thinking.

I strongly believe in the separation of church and state for many obvious reasons.
This pro-wealth, anti-poor bias coming from folks calling themselves Christians/patriots/teaparty really baffles me.
I get the part about them being hippocrites. I mean if they really do read the bible they would know that Jesus was a champion of the poor and weak....
But what do you suppose they tell themselves to reconcile all the obvious contempt they have for those that Jesus held so dear?
Not preaching, just very curious.

Always smart to have a Plan B.
Unfortunately for her, someone's "motivation for living" is taking away farm subsidies.

If her life is built around repealing Obamacare, then she must not like our Founding Fathers:

I think you should let the grown-ups work on the health care issue and you just work on your history studies...and maybe some self-awareness.

She is certainly "driven" but unfortunately, not by anything sane or good or kind or decent. Just racism, ignorance and hatred flows from this creature of the night.
