LeBron: 'I Got A Super Bowl Party To Go To'

Lebron Super Bowl Party

First Posted: 02/07/11 07:48 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:30 PM ET

LeBron James couldn't wait to go to his Super Bowl party. In fact, he tried to get the refs to speed up the game in fourth quarter so he could get out of there as soon as possible.

After Miami's Eddie House shoved Blake Griffin to the ground, the referees decided to review the play to determine the degree of the flagrant foul. But LeBron thought they were taking too long.

According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, LeBron told the referees: "I got a Super Bowl party to go to man, c'mon."

Coincidentally, James scored a season-low 12 points, recording six rebounds and four assists. The Heat went on to win 97-79.

-This should be investigated.. He was involved in prop-bets with the Super Bowl. Interesting how the self-proclaimed Chosen One didn't come close to his scoring average while showing so much disinterest in the game. It reminds me of Game 5 of last year.

But they won... in the end thats all that matters.

Not if he was point shaving. The FBI should be interested like they were when that referee admitted to fixing games.

Why is the ref informing us of this? That is the real ego here. Just ref the game I don't care what you have to say.

That was how I felt too.
Of course it doesn't matter what Bron-Bron says, so it's a good thing he's embraced his role as the bad guy.
Did anyone else see D-Wade give the little boy his shoes after the game? It was kids' day and when I saw this kid's face, I thought I would start bawling.

I don't like Lebron, but there is no issue here. The timing of the comment couldn't have been better. Tensions in the game were running high and Lebron lightened the tone with a lighthearted comment.
