Chuck Patterson, former professional mountain free-skier, took extreme to new level while spending time in Hawaii. Instead of going surfing the waves at Jaws off the northern coast of Maui, Patterson "donned a set of skis and hit the waves -- complete with ski poles."
"Ever since I started I was hooked like a little kid -- just like I was when I started snow skiing," Patterson told Kelly Burgess of the Los Angeles Times. "Something like that really keeps me going and I know that that's what I'm looking forward to as far as proving that you can actually turn on the waves."
