Dick Cheney Heckled, Called 'War Criminal' At CPAC

The Huffington Post

Former Vice President Dick Cheney didn't get the warmest welcome at this year's CPAC conference, as at least one rambunctious member of the audience greeted him with heckles of "war criminal" and "murdering scum."

Making a surprise appearance at the conference to introduce former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld for a CPAC "Defender of the Constitution Award", Cheney told the audience to "sit down and shut up" after a crescendo of "USA, USA" chants, which were reportedly triggered by a "where's Bin Laden?" exclamation.

In the following moments of silence, screams of "war criminal," "murdering scum," and "draft dodger," were reportedly hurled at Cheney.

According to a tweet from Slate's Dave Weigel, another malcontent later yelled "show us the shekels, Dick!" before being promptly removed by security.

Just a punk from Hamburg, Germany.

If you have a good idea for an invitation, that could make him set his foot on either nation's territory, please tell me, what I can do to help. I am just a punk from Hamburg, but I might know some people, who might know some people,...

Until then, someone might stress to him, that his legal immunity inside the US is only due to Obamas grace of withholding prosecution. And repeat it to him, until even he gets it.

I know the Obamacy has put pressure on both Spain and Germany to stop any charges or a trial against the Bush/Cheney regime. It outrages me and many of my fellow citizens---it makes us cringe to think these war criminals are getting away with it. And we wonder why we (USA)are viewed with such disgust.

Cheney sold war to our country.

Cheney: a war profiteer sliding through the revolving door connecting the public and private sectors of the defense establishment.

As Defense Secretary,he became CEO of Halliburton, the principal beneficiary of privatization for military logistical support.

Cheney was paid $44 million over five years, then became VP.

He dished out lucrative reconstruction contracts in Iraq to favoring Haliburton.

Halliburton outdid Enron with 58 offshore subsidiaries tax shelters to hide profits and bilk U.S. taxpayers.

Halliburton used off-shore subsidiaries to sell banned equipment to rogue states like Iran, Iraq and Libya. Illegal if done directly by Halliburton.

Tax payments went from $302 million in 1998 to zero in 1999, Yet receiving an IRS refund of $85 million.

$40 million a year for oil field service work in IRAN. Halliburton subsidiaries allowed itself to do illegal business with a rogue state, skippng out on its tax obligation to the US.

Halliburton is closely associated with the invasion of Iraq, it went from 19th on the U.S. Army's list of contractors to #1 in 2003, making $4.2 BILLION from the U.S.

Cheney's stock options went form $241,498 to $8 million in one year, an increase of 3,281%
Halliburton raked in more than $10 billion for no-bid contract work in Iraq, and handed the first Katrina contracts. Also building the American prison at Guantanamo Bay

I wish someone could tell me the real reason why Sarah Palin would refrain from rubbing shoulders (or any other part) with these big wigs. I am truly stumped.

They don't pay enough. She needs 100K minimum to run her mouth.

actually, i think she just wants 100k to run her mouth-i'm sure she'd do it for free if she had to. symptom of low self esteem.

Because they don't like Sarah Palin. She is not welcome to join their good ol boys club. They just want Sarah to go away.

Having served during Viet Nam and seen the devastation caused by the lies perpetrated by our country I share the opinion that Dick Cheney is a war criminal. There isa saying that goes "old men make wars and young men die in them". He made a fortune from his "blind trust" during his tenure as vice president. He's a seriously bad person and I worship the ground he'll be under.

Point on, I'm from that generation and the Viet Nam war still haunts some of my friends who survived.....I still place flowers on the graves of those who didn't.

When it was over, we had the false believe that it would never happen again.......:-((

If there ever was a shining example of what a human being is NOT supposed to be, this man is it. He represents the most vile, evil, selfish, heartless, souless example of evil since Hitler, Mussolinni, Chairman Mao, and of course his former finger puppet, old Dubya. This man represents the satanic symbolism of that which we feared most during his reign of fear. If you believe in the greatness of God, then you have to believe in the darkness of Mr. Cheney and righteously pray that the good Lord is on guard against this person.

TY....F&F....I have posted things about this ev!l man for years....here's a short history...

Cheney was dividing up and soliciting buyers for the Iraqi oil reserves a full 7 months before we were attacked in 2001.

The start of it all:

1992

Halliburton's Brown & Root is paid $9 million by the Pentagon (under Cheney's direction as Secretary of Defense) to produce a classified report detailing how private companies could provide logistical support for American troops in potential war zones around the world.

1995

Cheney leaves the DD, becomes CEO of Halliburton.  Halliburton goes from 73rd to 18th on the Pentagon's list of top contractors.

The company garners $2.3 billion in U.S. government contracts, which almost doubles the $1.2 billion it earned from the government previously.

1997

Cheney contributes to the creation of the rightwing policy group Project for the New American Century. The group advocates for the removal of Saddam Hussein's Iraqi regime as early as January 1998, and is later revealed to be the intellectual center of the drive to war in Iraq.

1998

Cheney oversees Halliburton's merger with Dresser, a company that helped Saddam Hussein rebuild Iraq's oil infrastructure after the First Gulf War, despite economic sanctions against Iraq.  Halliburton uses two foreign subsidiaries to do $23 million worth of business with Iraq

2002

Cheney warns the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Nashville, that "seated atop of ten percent of the world's oil reserves, Saddam Hussein could then be expected to seek domination of the entire Middle East, take control of a great portion of the world's energy supplies, and subject the United States to nuclear blackmail."

The WaPo describes Cheney as the "fulcrum of foreign policy", and that his influence for a pro-war policy comes to the fore on the eve of a possible conflict with Iraq. Cheney's wife Lynne is a senior fellow at the AEI, is one of the leading architects of the Bush administration's foreign policy and one of the leading voices pushing the Bush administration's plan for "regime change" through war in Iraq".

2003

The DCAA confirmed that Halliburton and  Kuwaiti Altamnia, had overcharged the U.S. $61 million 2003 for the cost of gasoline imported into Iraq.
