Sharm el-Sheikh, Mubarak's New Home (PHOTOS)

Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, is reportedly Mubarak's new home.

Aside from having a website straight out of 1995, and being the new home for President Hosni Mubarak, Sharm el-Sheikh is a popular resort city on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, in South Sinai Governorate, Egypt.

So what has Mubarak reportedly left Cairo for? Maybe a burger at the Sharm el-Sheikh Hard Rock Cafe just sounded really good.

Sharm el-Sheikh features quite a few major hotels such as Sharm el-Sheikh Four Seasons, Sharm el-Sheikh Marriott, Sharm el-Sheikh Sheraton, Sharm el-Sheikh Ritz-Carlton and even a Sharm el-Sheikh Holiday Inn.

Tourists from Egypt, around the region, and the rest of the world visit Sharm el-Sheikh for the casinos, diving, long swaths of natural beaches, year-round dry and temperate climate, and discos.

What better place for an embattled President to "retire"?

This won't be the first time Sharm el-Sheikh has garnered attention for something other than being a resort city. The 2005 Sharm el-Sheikh terrorists attacks killed 88 people, mostly Egyptian tourists, and significantly set the local economy back.

Egypt's tourism industry is suffering because of the current turmoil, but with reports of Mubarak resigning, even if it is to Sharm el-Sheikh, it isn't unreasonable to assume this popular tourist destination will rise again.

A handfull of foreign tourists enjoy their holiday in the Egyptian seaside resort Sharm el Sheikh on February 1, 2011, despite unrest in the country. Travel agencies are evacuating their clients from Egypt as protesters rallied for a ninth day to reject Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's timetable for quitting. Mubarak's time will come when his heart is weighed by Ma'at at the time of his death...perhaps to be devoured by Ammit!

And Hosejob Mubarak summons the impoverished people of Egypt to bend over one last time while he robs them blind of all their countries' wealth. But I predict that the great leveler of all, Karma, will rule the day once again in the form of an olive pit. Swallow long and hard dear one. And may you choke until forever.

Confiscate all money secured illegally during his 30 years. Why should he get to keep him. Throw them all in jail after a trial.

Maybe before the trial. Remand. Bail with passports $60 billion. Bye bye.

Who said crime doesn't pay?
The a$$hat stealing everyones money and paying off government official and judges - -that is who.
Steal a computer - -go to jail - -steal the entire computer company - -get hailed as a great businessman.
Mubarak stole billions - -and his friends like Dick Head Cheney will help to keep him out of jail.
50% of Egyptians make $2 a day - -Mubarak stole billions.
Sounds like the new america.

Crowded and not very attractive scenery to say the least.
If he likes crowds, he should have gone to Jones Beach.

Unless he's essentially a prisnor being kept there in luxury, I don't think staying in Sharm el Sheikh for anything more than a few days is a very good Idea for Mr. Mubarak and his family. A fast camel out of Dodge, so to speak, would be a very good idea.

He'd better have some serious security, he's imprisoned, beat, tortured, and killed enough people to have a huge target on his back. I'm sure a newly encouraged if not empowered Muslim Brotherhood would love to take him out as well as any family members. It is always good to oust a dictator, but I fear this has opened a can of worms that will alter geopolitics world wide for some time.

and, just think, a significant part of this home (well, at least we are not taking him in) was purchased w/ our tax money, and , prob., no small amount of fraud. His 5 BILLION dollars or more benefitted greatly from U.S. largess (read our taxes) for decades-----(so don't blame Obama)
