UPDATE: Redskins Insider's Mike Jones reported that Banks has been released from the hospital. His companion remains in serious condition.

Washington Redskins punt returner Brandon Banks was stabbed early Saturday morning at a D.C. club called "Park," according to NBC Washington.

Police said an argument occurred at about 3 a.m. Saturday at the club, located at 920 14th Street in the Northwest. After the fight escalated, a suspect, who is now in custody, attacked both Banks and his companion with a knife, police said. On Saturday afternoon that man remained in critical condition.

Banks is reportedly in stable condition "with superficial knife wounds."

The 23-year-old tweeted "park gonna b to much for me tonight" around 1 a.m.
