CNN Money:

Like the rest of the federal government, the Small Business Administration is going to get the squeeze in 2012, according to President Obama's budget proposal released Monday.

The SBA -- and, most critically, the lending programs it backs -- got some pretty hefty government subsidies through the Great Recession as the White House tried desperately to get capital flowing to small businesses.

Our family business has been around since 1981. The only program we ever participated in was the 8(a) program. The benefits were marginal at best. Even now, the SBA is doing next to nothing to foster a healthy environment for small businesses to thrive in this region. I would love to hear from any small business owner who has been lucky enough to secure any form of a loan through the SBA over the past few years.

Why does the SBA even exist? Small Business Administration? By what definition?

Over 95% of businesses in America are classified as Small by the SBA, including fortune 500 corporations.

I owned a small business, I've seen what they do. More importantly what they don't, such as helping small businesses compete against Big business. The big corporations own this country.

The SBA doesn't represent small business. They represent themselves and anyone that is real tight with the organization that wants a freebee

Again, the headline does not tell the real story: SUBSIDIES to small business are on the chopping block.

To use Obamas analogy about a car being in the ditch, My opinion is he has now driven the said car through the economic sector running over anything or one who is in his pat and now is driving through neighbor hoods running over houses cars front lawns and the youth who will be paying the tab. Maybe he should have learned to drive before being elected, but he never had driven a car in his life unfortunately for us mere pedestrians.
